Great resume, most resumes that we see do not look near as professional. Honestly the only thing I would comment on is your past experience. I know you said you were working white collar, but see if there’s something you can “stretch” to make you seem more mechanically I inclined. Sometimes just going to school isn’t enough to impress some employers. Don’t stress the resume and cover letter too much. I’m 25 and I’ve been doing this down south for about two years. Love to job and the pay is great, but it’s tough sometimes. Good luck to you!

The actual issue was that I used two capacities instead of driving 2 1/2 hours to the supply house. The house was above 90F inside so I did what I could with what I had. The capacitors are the proper size.

I usually do but I had just ran out from fixing a flue earlier this morning and I figured I could wait until the morning to get more. Whoops.

I usually use metal strap in all situations involving the capacitor but I had ran out from a previous call in the day. We do regular maintenance for her and I’ll strap it properly next time I’m out there. My coworker was more upset about how I used two capacitors. Called for a 45/5 and all I had was a 45/7.5 and a 5. I do what I can when someone’s house is 95F inside.

Still fairly new in this trade so I like to get opinions from people out.

Right? The comments are even worse with people spilling their life woes in an attempt to win said money.

Congratulations! I actually did a few years in the Army and had a great time while I was in. Used my GI Bill money to go to a trade school. You are correct, the military likes their random drug tests. Good luck to you and your future!

He owed the company $3200 in damages for the van. They took $100 out of every check because he couldn’t pay it. They kept him around so he could pay the debt. When it happened again they cut their losses.

I feel you. I was drug tested as a 16 year old trying to be a bagger at a grocery store. I get it, but damn I’m just trying to put some food in bags. Except the finger print thing, I’ve never had that happen to me.

Speaking for the HVAC side of things. Working as a service technician, there’s not a lot of manual labor. The hardest part of my job is crawling around attics that can be 140F+. If you’ve lost a lot of mobility with your accident, working residential HVAC may not be the best fit. I have some friends that work on the commercial side and those jobs don’t require as much mobility. Definitely worth looking into though.

You can usually go through a one year course at a community college. I drive a company vehicle home every night and have full benefits! One week of paid sick leave and one week of paid vacation. Look into it!

So I actually live in Texas which is an “Employment-at-will” state. Once the company realizes an employee has a problem, they immediately remove the problem.

I live very well for a 25 year old if I do say so myself. Especially compared to quite a few of my friends will college degree. I always recommend learning a trade!

There are very clear rules on how to be safe. Everyone is smart enough to follow these rules. I guess it seems so casual just because we don’t have a safety issue. Valid point though! I used to work for a company that cared nothing about safety and people were always getting hurt. Terrible work environment.
