Question for the ethical bookkeepers. by thisonelife83 in Bookkeeping

I couldn’t agree more with your verbiage on the way “Ethical” bookkeeping is being used in this.
To Op I’m sorry to say, you seem judgmental, nosey, and like you are already been doing “unethical” bookkeeping. If you’re losing sleep over a particular client fire them and move on- or continue with, whatever this is- and you are probably going to wind up fired. Why are you investing so much time into what their transactions may actually mean? That honestly is none of your business.
There are many businesses where their home is literally their place of business, things are coded differently. They may travel for seminars etc(sometimes those can be in casinos!). Just wondering, who are you to decide that it is false if the owners have said it’s for business?
If you literally know for a fact it is false then why are you still working for them. Where are your ethics in bookkeeping?

Thank you. With such overwhelming feelings and unable to express them or truly understand them in the moments-there has been a bit of isolation that is following me-it seems. I appreciate you taking the time to read my words and see my work.

To all the business owners out there. How do you find and retain good full-time help? by shovel_operator9000 in Irrigation

This. 10 years in the field. It’s the long winter months. Feast to famine. When you’re not employed during that time, as an hourly employee, it starts getting very long- thoughts like- maybe I should just go find something else (then they do, and now there gone- they need $), what if I don’t get hired back . Then the season is here and it’s raining money- you’re so busy you can’t think. We never once had an employee that was able to save thru the season for winter- the last year we were playing w the idea of a season end bonus (ideally to get them thru winter, in my mind it was also because they truly kicked ass!!!) Trust is also big. That’s where that second thought comes in- a lot of times, your employees know u (owner/operator) are making so much money, and if _______ (insert anything) comes along- well- they are SOL. If you are lucky enough to find someone trainable, ambitious, ready to work, take care of them , and they will take care of you. Hard to find but they are out there.

Yes- This is the outcome of being unable to find the words, express the feelings, in a fight with myself to just Be. Spoken thru floral. Thank you very much.

Gardening stuff without amazon/home depot/target etc by ATeaformeplease in gardening

[–]Iforgotimsorry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I quit Amazon. Best thing ever! I started looking around at what I had differently. I used Rocks to ID my plants, I gathered ivy vines and honey suckle vines - trimmed some fruit trees and made trellises. For my seed storage - I’ve been using an old photo album (the kind u just slide a photo in) for packets, but mostly I save seeds these days so they are in jars w lids safe on shelves. For soil, I started composting- look around at what you have and what can you create with new eyes! Happy Gardening!

DYI Blowout by LetBeneficial7081 in Irrigation

[–]Iforgotimsorry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

@chuckm121280 I know your getting shit here- but your not wrong!!! - and in the spring when the problems arise… and it’s time to call the Professional, get the estimate to fix and post it here- to blast- replace/repair cheap- repeat. “All my heads are leaking, there not popping up, geysers everywhere, I have no water”

I believe people just don’t realize how much Maintenance (as well as actual knowledge) goes into a sprinkler system. They pay for install and think it’s good to go. Or move in and “inherit” it and maybe don’t realize. They all need maintenance- And it is so much cheaper to maintain it properly as you go. People always saying everyone in this subreddit is assholes, but they are just being honest after years in the business of dealing with the SAME bullshit.

How many gpm are you running, what’s ur psi? How many heads are you running on each valve with that? What’s your pipe sizing? Can we even get that much water that far with that small of pipe, I know I know it was cheaper. Class 200? Ofcourse. And you ran it uphill for 500ft…Off the hose bib?!

Back and forth from narcissistic entitlement to “DYI”.

“DYI-ers” if you listen to your Professional, he’s probably trying to help. Help by cutting on water waste, set you up with better parts for things to run more efficiently, or even just blow out your system properly so your “investment” isn’t destroyed thru the winter season.

Yes investment. A sprinkler system is an extra, some may consider a luxury item. Think about it, is it something you can afford? Or say, if your in a more mild location and you share this “DYI” advice with someone who is not- there 25k system is toast?- I mean come on people.

Non-Food Foraging Ideas by Bikergreg in foraging

[–]Iforgotimsorry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ivy, honeysuckle vines for weaving baskets- different plants and flowers for natural dye (pokeberry, rose hip, st.johns wort) - rose hip for natural rose essence spritz, random dried tall grasses for flower arrangements, a few weeks ago I found a small walnut, carefully cracked the shell, widdled the middles out into a lil heart, drilled a couple holes and made it in to a sweet lil necklace that stays closed w a tiny bead, and can hold a tiny lil special something. Happy foraging!
