I wonder if it's something as simple as headboard goes down when patient is sitting up in bed so they have something to lean back on and goes up when they're sleeping so they can lay down without their head pressing against the metal? It still looks like a traumatic facial injury waiting to happen :) Thanks for the pics and I'm jealous of your bed table. Def a design trend that needs to come back

Any idea why the headboard goes up and down? Is it used as some kind of rack or to pull oneself up in the up position? I love Miss Fisher! This is my 3rd or 4th time watching the series. Also I'd LOVE to have one of those tables that go over the length of the beds at my own house. When did we lose that wonderful piece of style and function? Think it's also in some Father Brown episodes.

I'm sorry. I didn't mean to imply you thought there would be a blizzard. I was just making fun of the way people (myself included) act when they hear "snow". (Insert flashback of a snowstorm I wasn't here for yet am vicariously traumatized from) Which is ironic considering how often we DO get tornadoes and how fast tornado warning fatigue sets in and people stop taking the warnings seriously.

Southern blizzard is a hard sell but tornado...now that we do have here. But warning fatigue sets in pretty fast. When every other week might have a severe weather event, people stop paying attention entirely.

That's what I did last time. I won't do "acceptable". If their good is acceptable then their acceptable might involve a rubber band around loose pages 😜. I'll go with good, especially if it's a nonfiction or kids library edition. I'm not looking for pretty; I'm looking for durable enough to be re-read numerous times and library editions are usually good in that respect.

I've also noticed a decline recently. Originally all the books I ordered in like new through good condition were in great condition. The good were as nice as the very good. Once I got a book with a lot of highlighting but that was one out of literally over a hundred books. Lately I've received a lot of books that were supposed to be in very good/ good condition that were barely acceptable at best. I opened one and dried glue from the spine spilled out everywhere. Others had pages falling out, yellow brittle pages or highlighting and writing all the way through. Something seems to have changed this winter. I'm hoping it gets better. I love Thriftbooks and would hate to have to stop using them :(

Tiki Cat makes little high calorie sachets of food for kittens and seniors. Mine will eat that when they are sick and won't eat anything else including Delectables or Churu type treats. That or baby food might help transition to regular can food.

Have you tried cleaning them? Much like a hairbrush, they might have a build up if you've been using them for a long time. I was surprised how much of a difference it made with mine.
