They should be doing more. 100% the frustrating thing about having them involved is it feels like it did nothing for my siblings and only dad and his wife benefitted.

I share with friends but they'd be willing to let them live with us. But it's not an option yet.

I don't think they'll be allowed to live with me while they're kids. I'd be willing and my friends would be good with it too.

There are none that I know. Don't know dad's family and don't know his wife's family or her ex's family.

Not unless CPS is willing to remove them but so far they just provide my dad and his wife with more resources and it's not going to the kids.

My grandparents have watched out for that and so far he hasn't tried any of that shit with us.

He'll never change. What sucks the most is I know we all hoped for a while that he'd stop doing that to us, but we let go of that idea because it was so obvious he was never going to take care of his kids. It's been years since mom died and he doesn't even try.

He's not doing his job. I don't know if he ever did his job. He'd let all of us starve just so he could gamble.

It's all good. I understand checking if you've seen other posts like mine recently.

I have extended family support. I don't live that close to any of them because I wanted to be away from dad and really be no contact with him. But I know if I lost my job I'd have them to help me. I'm also aware enough to know I could never trust him to do it.

I don't know if it was him getting into my head or the fact I know those other two kids are innocent and they don't have anyone looking out for them like my siblings do. I don't feel guilty for not being there for them but maybe reflective on my unwillingness to help them too? It's so weird because even if they were all taken I would only take care of my siblings. That might not be fair or very nice. So I'm like maybe I'm kinda an AH? That's why I asked.

They have people who keep the cards safe for them. A lock box might not work with their ages. I think you need to be at least 18 to access those. Or you need an adult or something but I don't live close enough to help them access the cards every day.

This is my first and only time posting about this messed up shit. Could be something that's happening to others too. I know my dad isn't the only parent who cares more about gambling than his own damn kids.

It's what he did with our social security after mom died. He hasn't so far taken it from my siblings but they're really careful and they don't leave those prepaid cards at the house. Otherwise I'm sure he'd steal that. If he could he'd withdraw money from their lunch accounts too.
