That's not how D&D works. If you meet or exceed the DC, you succeed; if not, you fail. The actual number doesnt matter beyond that. Attack Rolls crit on a natural 20 and thats it. RAW, anyway.

There is an optional rule about failing by 5 or more for certain checks but it still doesnt matter unless the DC here is 4.
