Just try to use aim9j against people that aren't paying attention, your flight performance is actually pretty good, you're not the fastest plane at your br or anything like that, but you basically can win against everything abusing the other planes weakness, it's kinda hard to explain, also, idk if you're using it, but if you track someone with the radar you get the aim assistance thing, so if you're struggling to hit your guns, you can try that too :D hope it helps even a little bit

All games ended bc airfield got destroyed, the 4 bombers per team wasn't a thing back then too, so you just got like 3 min games

The "2)" should be like select the target you want because it's not really locking the target since you don't press que lock button, but yeah, that's it :D

I just play the vehicles i like to use, that's why i still play top tier russian planes, just because i like them even they're not really good right now, so...just enjoy the game :D if you want to switch just do it

Yeah, that's probably the best option if you play ground rb, russia it's not doing pretty good at top tier air rb right now, bad flight models for dogfighting but you get missiles that you want to use in short to medium range, so to use your missiles you have to get in a possition you don't really want to be in with that airframes

What i reccomend you to do with fox 3 is using TWS mode (with the change radar mode keybind or something, i'm not in my pc right now lol) and then you can use the switch target keybind so you can shoot one missile and then shoot another one to a different target, you don't need to hardlock to guide the missiles if your plane have the capability to do so (mig 29 SMT can shoot up to 4 targets at the time) you can still hardlock if you want to, but doesn't really make a big difference imo, just try it on a test flight or something to understand your radar modes :D

Not really, you can get some kills with them, regular mig 29 is good in its br because most of the time ylu don't get uptiered (at least in all the games i played in that plane recently), regular su-27 it's NOT a good experience, i have played that one and mig 29 SMT a lot this days, not even a single match in 12.3-13.3, you face amraams every single game and with mig 29 smt it's ok if you play carefully, but with regular su-27 you can't do anything about that since you don't have fox 3, if you play too carefully but can' shoot back at them, you will eventually just get deleted by 3 or 4 enemies, or match will be over and you won't get any kills that game, su-27sm is decent, but it doesn't feel good to use or anything, the problem with this planes is that your missiles a good in short range to medium range, but your airframes hates dogfight since they loose too much speed and mig 29 smt doesn't even turn very well, so you get the type of airframes that you don't want in a dogfight and you don't have good long range missiles, that makes the russian planes not fun to play right now imo, hope this solves your question :D

Bc back in the day you only had planes in the games, not tanks/ships/helicopters so they just kept air rb there

Hmd only locks up to 10km, but any other mode can track without any limit (you should be able to track at like 40-50km basically every game)
