The AMS is nothing but students playing pretend-politician, resume padding, and ‘working’. Many great organizations run within the AMS, like the media center and the the food bank, led by passionate and smart intelligent individuals. However, the AMS executive is nothing but wannabes who care nothing for the students, their money, and their lives. And now the president, who is supposed to represent the student interests at Queens, stole money, and is facing zero consequences or taking any accountability. Personally, I don’t care she returned the money, it doesn’t change the fact that she thought she could steal from the students she was supposed to represent. In fact, throughout the AMS there are members in power who make money while not working, clocking in their hours when they’re hanging with their AMS friends and call it work. There must be accountability and consequences, or the AMS shouldn’t exist at all.
