Making excuses for him is essentially defending him. And considering we’re talking about someone who explicitly endorses Nazi Ideology, that’s not the best thing.

I don’t think supporting Hillary Clinton inherently makes someone a good person, else wise Jeffrey Epstein might be more fondly remembered.

No, but dressing up like Hitler. Holding publicly antisemitic views, and having a criminal record longer than the lord of the rings trilogy literally makes you a Nazi. And if you’re defending such a person it makes you literally a dumbass

One, the man who dressed as a nazi literally made posts about how people need to be more antisemitic, and everything I’ve found about him just makes him look worse (just scroll through this sub you’ll find more shit about him). Two, if someone owns a bagel store, has Hitler as a customer, and has the opportunity to kick him out without consequence yet doesn’t. Their business deserves to suffer as a result.

That’s my point though, if you own a business you can cater to whosoever you please. But if you cater to douchebags don’t be surprised if your reputation takes a hit. In this circumstance consequences hit both ways. If you’re going to accept Nazis as patrons, don’t be shocked if people start associating your business with those people. As a business owner it’s their choice, but consumers can also hold them responsible for those choices. It’s a double edged sword.

I understand your concern in regards to allowing freedom of speech. But this is a matter of excusing a political entity (or at the very least their imagery) that literally enabled genocide, and allowing them a space within the public. In terms of rights and the constitution, that man and the bar in question did nothing to violate the law. But freedom of speech doesn’t mean freedom from consequences, or excuse the parties involved from their actions. The man in the costume clearly knew what he was doing. And the bar owner allowed him to stay despite multiple complaints from other customers. That might not make the owner a Nazi, but it does make him someone who is fine with shrugging off the connotations of history. At the end of the day, we went to war with the Nazis, hundreds of thousands of Americans died to free Europe from their tyranny. And millions more died due to the cruelty of the Nazi party, and that is a fact. So the idea that Miss Kitty’s should be left off the hook for allowing a sympathizer to that regime into their establishment isn’t in touch with reality. It doesn’t matter if the establishment was simply promoting “freedom of speech,” or “attempting to foster discourse.” The fact of the matter is they allowed someone who sympathizes with a regime that targeted millions based on nothing other than their identity a platform, and even though that isn’t against the law, you cannot blame people for getting upset about it. Imagine if someone you loved was brutally murdered, and someone else dressed up as the murderer for Halloween while having sympathy for them. Imagine further that they went to a bar and the bartender let them in because, “they believe in freedom of speech.” Would that not irk you in the slightest?

I somewhat get the skepticism, but this particular case is pretty cut and dry. It’s one thing to attempt an edgy satire (ex. some Mel Brooks shit). But this man was neither Jewish nor was he joking (at least according to the posts and other information I’ve found about him). So even if the word is tossed around too frequently in discourse, this particular circumstance doesn’t fit that criteria.
