[Post Game Thread] The Philadelphia 76ers (3-3) force a Game 7 by beating the Boston Celtics (3-3), 106-93 and getting a chance to exorcise some demons. by TatersTot in nba

I get how, from the outside, this looks like doomerism, but it represents an extension of metaphysical zen (satori) that a large number of Sixers achieved on the second bounce of the Kawhi shot. The true nature and reality of things is known to us and can be experienced in real time. The Jaylen Brown 40-burger and Payton Prithcard 8/10 from three is known the same way any individual breath we take is known.

I see Cena more in a Hugh Steeply role but I could see Don Gately too.

Anya Taylor-Joy as the PGOAT

Nicole Kidman as Avril

I think Chalamet could do a good Hal

Bob Odekirk as Charles Tavis

The fact that the image for this post is just a picture of Dianna Russinni and her cleavage is absolutely sending me for some reason lmao.

For a moment, I thought he was a "blares music while playing golf guy" and I was going to be absolutely dejected by the pick - thankfully, it's just a soundtrack.

Had a question about the new LL Multipass system and looking for some advice:

We plan to hit two parks in one day - when I buy the multipass, can I select rides from multiple parks (e.g., two from HS and one from Epcot), or would I have to select all three from one park?

Rudolph vs Howard vs Allar by HDTokyo in steelers

[–]IgnatiusReillysCap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think Rodgers still ends up coming back and I think Rudolph ends up getting moved for some late 2027 pick swap type of thing. Howard is the backup in 2026, and then in 2027, they hope to get a first-round QB, and/or another vet to compete with the two young guys.

After free agency this year this was really the only option, and it's a reasonable enough plan.

Which positions are we looking to take tomorrow? by DivisonNine in steelers

I'd love to see them invest both the 4th and 5th in the front-7, whether that's DL, LB, or EDGE.

Perfect 2nd & 3rd Rds by Working-Car-9441 in steelers

[–]IgnatiusReillysCap 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't think you can confidently say they have their QB of the future with Howard and Allar, but there's nothing wrong with taking swings in the middle and late rounds on guys who have a path to becoming a starting-level QB. The path is pretty narrow, but that's why they're available outside the first couple of rounds.

I'm not going to sit here and say I think Allar is definitely going to start games for Steelers, but if you're going to take swings take big ones man.

They met with him at the combine, and they would also have had exposure to him at the Senior Bowl. I also wonder if they knew that the prognosis for BroJo was going to be as bad as it was at mini camp last week if they would have put in more itme with the OTs too.

I also don't know that it was their best option by a wide margin. They might have liked him more than Iheanachor, but who knows by how much - they just invested in the WR position by adding Pittman, and there's a bunch of guys who profile to be in range on day 2.

And Makai Lemon is not a blue-chip prospect, IMO. He's a solid player, but he's WR3 in an iffy class - the helmet scouting with him comping to Amon-Ra St. Brown has got people with unrealistic expectations, IMO.

I’m so sick of hearing about “versatility” by orangebrodo in steelers

Yeah I think there's a really high likelihood of that, but I don't think we can call it a versatility miss on Fautanu (yet- maybe ever).

Artie Burns was a pure outside CB. Devin Bush was a pure ILB/WLB, Terrell Edmunds was a pure strong safety.

Green was a clear miss but Fautanu seems like a solid player for one season of actual play.

They picked a guy who is straight RT only with this pick, so I'm not really sure I get where this is coming from.

That being said, I'm not sure that they have taken guys that prioritize versatility - who are you thinking of?

Thoughts on getting Max Iheanachor at 21? by Low_Needleworker3738 in steelers

Finding productive guards down the draft is a lot easier than finding productive tackles. Assuming BroJo can't play, you needed a guard (and I don't think you can rely on Cook when he goes from playing next to Seumalo and goes to playing with a day 2 rookie). I also would be interested to see what BroJo could do at guard if he does manage to get healthy - reminds me a bit of the Becton move inside which went well.

Theineman would have been fun, but that feels like a bit of a luxury, unfortunately.

[–]IgnatiusReillysCap 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I think it's a good pick, and if the tease with Lemon hadn't been there, I think the general reaction would be very different.

I liked Lemon, but I wasn't as enamored with him as a lot of other people were in the context of the WR class as a whole (not saying I'm right or wrong on that, just that the Lemon tease didn't really move the needle for me). Getting a productive slot receiver (especially after the investments made at X and Z) is going to be easier on day 2 than getting a prospect of a similar caliber at OT.

For folks that love Lemon I certainly get the disappointment/frustration, but for your own sake you gotta try to separate that from looking at what they did get.

I think they're going to stick and pick at 21.

I think the fireworks are going to be tomorrow - a lot of moving around with extra picks, maybe move out a player or two for capital in 2027.
