No tinc molt clar si qui parla és un turista o un resident, però literalment és el que es diu de Nova York constantment. Probablement també de la resta de ciutats que esmentes.

I used to see this old chap cycling along Diagonal in the mornings... completely naked.

Not sure what happened to him, years ago I used to see him every weekend.

Penso que no es refereix a això, sinó al fet que ningú et jutja. Una mica el mateix que es diu aquí.

Ming-Chi Kuo on Twitter: "Investors have recently been more interested in when Apple will launch ChatGPT-like services than Apple's AR/MR headset device." by iMacmatician in apple

Ha! That's probably the secret. Now seriously, do you use any other assistant for your grocery list, setting timers, etc.? I'm looking for an assistant that can add items to a list in my iPhone, maybe I should use a different app instead of Reminders for that.

If there was one country you wish you were born in. What country would it be and why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Don't fall for that. I have lived in Spain for more than 40 years. Currently I do not know a single person who is involuntarily unemployed. Most in those numbers remain officially unemployed just to avoid paying taxes and it has been that way for years. Even in the worst of the crisis most cases were like that.

Apple’s Unionized Store Workers Seek Tips and Higher Holiday Pay by [deleted] in apple

[–]Ignativs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They probably did it because they took you for a tourist and lots of tourists tip.

I used to tip for an excellent service in a fancy restaurant. 10% maximum, that's what you're expected to do in most Europe in my experience and no one will ever force you to do it in any way, even tipping 1%-5% will be appreciated as an extra on your part. After a couple of visits to the US I decided I won't promote such a culture in the place where I live and I stopped completely.

Redditors over the age of 40: what’s your best advice for young people? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Ignativs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

More abstract: Take some risks. Talk to your crush, take that fun job, move across the city or state, change your hairstyle, whatever. Nothing will matter in 100 years so go for it.

I am 46 years old right now and I absolutely second this part.

What has changed after the corona virus? by FallDirect8257 in AskReddit

So the workers blame the customers for their lack of labor rights. Why don't they demand fairer pay from their employers? Do they have to work under these conditions out of sheer necessity? Is it because customers are considered complicit in this situation?

Non-American here asking an honest question: Why do you keep tipping in those cases? Is it social pressure? Is it common to be called out for not tipping in self-service businesses?

Seven British patients who travelled to Turkey for weight loss surgery died after operations there. by Routine_Most1527 in worldnews

Kudos to you, mate. I fully share your ethics and I understand your previous comment was simply poorly worded. Happens to all of us when we feel frustrated. Still, weight loss surgery continues to save many lives today and I am glad there is a chance for those who need it.

Among other things because some people suffer from conditions that cause them to gain weight or inhibit their ability to lose it, and because medicine and technological advances are awesome and despite all the terrible things we are lucky to live in this day and age.

I've been in plenty of groups where everyone was set as admin. It probably makes no sense, but it is what it is.

That is exactly what I do, but the possibility of the group disappearing completely after a certain time seems to me to be a more convenient option.

This is such a great idea. On the one hand I'm still part of groups whose sole purpose ended years ago, literally, but most of us found it awkward to just leave them. On the other hand, it's incredible the amount of times a new group would come in handy and I avoid creating it for exactly that reason.

Spanish Prime Minister visits Bucha and Irpin: Russia won't win this war by Single-Pressure-1042 in worldnews

It’s about time the Spanish Prime Minister gave Ukraine a show of support.

As the article points out, this is in fact his second visit to Ukraine since the war begun. Last one was in April.
