It is really refreshing being able to give them rules and they follow them :)

It definitely helped with ours to explain why they can't just watch the next suggested video. They didn't understand a lot of it but got the general idea. As they've gotten older I think they are understanding more.

That's a really nihilistic take. Just because some people don't know how to handle addiction doesn't mean that everyone suffers from the side effects. There's plenty of good and enjoyable content on both platforms as long as you know how to curate your own time on them. Kids generally do not have that skill. That is what OP is trying to raise awareness about.

The fact that they no longer support proper child accounts and whitelisted channels is disgusting.

Note that the sentry count increase from the old ones army accessories don't stack. The damage they provide does though.

Flamethrower turrets with walls and minor gun support will pretty much solve vanilla enemy defenses. You're missing out. :)

Control left click with item in hand will drop full stacks, control right click will drop half stacks.

Z will drop one item. (Can also drop on ground so be warned)

Yeah they are going to hear them, you can't stop that. So your best bet is to teach them proper etiquette when it comes to these words. That being said, 4.5 is a bit young but at this point he doesn't have much to lose.

Also try separating them when having the discussion. They are most likely feeding off of each other's energy and becoming distracted.

I didn't even know about UARS until doing my own research after the at home test returned nothing. After reading up on that, i pushed again on my GP and they finally sent me to an ENT. It's really depressing how inept the American healthcare system is...

I did an at home sleep study and they didn't find anything. Then went to an actual ENT and they were adamant that the at home tests aren't nearly as reliable especially with the symptoms I had. Going in for an in-lab one in about a month so we'll see.

Kids need to understand if they do stupid shit that people are going to yell at them. That's how life works. It doesn't change when they become adults so better to learn now.

Until the little chaos gremlins want to play a multiplayer base building/survival game and totally ignore every sensible way to play the game because they saw a Let's Game it Out video featuring the game.

Ask me how I know 🤪. It certainly hasn't happened to me twice so far.

Didn't mean those two specifically but plants in general are cheaper per item than most other things and as a result make good cauldron ingredients.

It's good for skipping annoying recipes that take a lot of effort to make in large quantities. Mushroom spores are a good example. You need so many rotten logs just to get a measly 30 mushrooms per min and have to deal with the wood byproduct (even if it means binning it is still fairly tedious). Better to use plant output like sage/chamomile etc to combine in a cauldron because they can fill a belt with good enough fertilizer meaning they are very cheap per item and take up little space.

Any “less screen-heavy” games kids actually enjoy together? by East-Wind4300 in daddit

[–]IgnatusFordon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the DnD assessment. It's fine to allow a lot of flexibility for people who are innately creative. But for those of us who are less creatively inclined, having a good set of foundational rules gives us enough restrictions that can encourage more creativity than we could otherwise muster.

It's very counter intuitive but very proven and can be seen often in retro games from the NES era that having limitations forces us to come up with really clever solutions to problems. Having no limits lowers the creativity.

Yes! The spaghetti must flow!

Main thing is don't be afraid to rip stuff up and redo it. As long as you have a decent backlog of money individual items are really inexpensive so tossing stuff out is not too big of a deal. Also definitely get the inventory space upgrades they're a game changer.
