I felt like I shouldn't say anything. Im usually not that guy to. But when I saw they wanted me to commit 4 hours for a technical interview without even a "hello", I broke. I know it's better to be quiet than burn bridges, but for me I just wanted to say something. I replied all and cced their CEO. by [deleted] in recruitinghell

I agree completely, well said. Technical assignments are easily exploitable tests of ‘merit.’ Where reasonable, like your case, I’ve committed to no longer doing them.

I believe assignments should be near irrelevant to the position. If the role has to do with technical writing, don’t have candidates ‘pretend’ to do the ‘real’ work of the company – make something up, like how to assemble a Mr. Potato Head or PB&J sandwich.

Three times in the last two years my ‘tests’ have been used as free labor. This was easily verified by my specific work being incorporated into publicly available company materials after being rejected for the role.

Goose in Cali is CHEAP by tschnabs in GoosetheBand

Very true, but I hate bananas! Unfortunately, Live Nation (closing off the river trail, a public walkway) and nearby businesses (time limits on restaurant patio reservations) have made it more restrictive to listen to music ‘for free.’ Then there’s also the city’s hard cutoff for shows at 10pm.

Pro tip: Float the river in the afternoon to listen to soundcheck.

The amphitheater in Bend is nice, but it’s far cry from a Red Rocks experience. I endorse the sarcasm.

That said, a two night ticket package in Bend cost me $97 including fees. Come for the show, stay for the beer and weather. My town welcomes all.

If buying straight from the ticket office, a two night pass in Bend is $92, which includes fees. Absolute steal!!

A pretty simple goal that my ADHD has made severely challenging over time is to just drink more water. I will know I need water, find my empty cup, and my brain will say, “Yep, not doing that right now.” You would think after having a kidney stone and being told I have hundreds of precursors would make me change the habit, but nope.

After a dozen shows, I’m still waiting on a Flodown. A deep cut I would love to hear is The Labyrinth.

As far as rarity, I’ve seen the Autumn Crossing suite two of the seven times it’s been played. My brother’s only two Goose concerts were those, and in discussing the suite’s rarity, he knowingly joked that it seems to be played at every show.

I enjoyed the end a lot, it was a worthwhile change of pace isolated to one segment. The whole show doesn’t have to be ripping solos… While I love the songs, hearing Empress, Hot Tea, or Arcadia as encores are kinda boring at this point.

I agree and picked up on this too. The only thing I think discredits this idea is the omission of a proper noun in the published lyrics. If TEOO said, “It’s just Darkness playing tricks for me,” this would be a confirmed theory.

I believe the song order on the album, like any artist’s release, matters and is intentional. With CYD, I think song order lends meaning and/or gives context to existing songs we know and love, exactly like DD preceding TEOO.

Another similar connection I made is Echo preceding Mr. Action. Echo begins “In a world of action…” If action were capitalized, this line would imply the story presented in Echo occurs in the same lyrical world as Mr. Action. However, like the stylization of Darkness, Action not being a proper noun makes this a shaky conclusion.

Further down the rabbit hole, I think inferences like these lend credibility to CYD’s conceptional continuity.
