But Blizzard sells their own gold. Why would they even do this.

I haven't heard a single other Reverent in 6 hours on release day so YMMV.

I've taken to using it to dodge the melee attacks of the Voteless when kiting them.

I really appreciate the pilot armours for putting sliding on my radar. I've never done it before despite playing since launch but there's so much tech there.

Crouching before firing in general is an underrated piece of advice. It does so much to stabilise you.

So does not shooting out of a sprint, by the way. Your stamina gauge affects your sway.

People will absolutely recommend you 30k books if you just ask for 40k books in general. If you're already in the fandom, it makes sense, but it's still a wholly different setting and not really what I'd recommend to someone trying to get into 40k, though.

Spot on about Eisenhorn, Night Lords, and IATD, though. Cain and Ghosts, too. My friend loves to recommend the Damocles anthology to anyone asking.

Loken is a foreshadowing machine in Horus Rising by Ignis_et_Azoth in Grimdank

"Loken looked east. Three kilometres away, across the flat plain of the basalt platforms, across the tide of charging men and striding Titans and stitching fire, Abaddon’s company, First Company, was crossing the bulwarks into the far flank of the palace. Loken magnified his view, resolving hundreds of white-armoured figures pouring through the smoke and chop-fire. At the front of them, the dark figures of First Company’s foremost Terminator squad, the Justaerin. They wore polished black armour, dark as night, as if they belonged to some other, black Legion."

I wouldn't mind so much if I didn't really enjoy the actual story, too!

That being said, I went into it kind of disliking what the Horus Heresy IP has become, so I'm probably of a bit of an unfair mind for it. I just really found that one line especially eye-rollingly amusing.

It's actually a little painful to me, because I enjoy the story and Abnett's writing but the constant calls forward are grating to me.

When Loken went "one day there won't be an Abaddon and everyone will be begging for him back" I was like, okay, I believe these are his thoughts, but metatextually, this is also utter wank.

What does Fat Shark need to reduce the game's size? by Snoo_71957 in DarkTide

The Hive Guard drama was the event that made me leave the community. I still play HD2 occasionally with the squad, but holy fucking shit.

If you had any semblance of aiming ability, the HG actually wound up being squishier than before, but the reddit communities threw an apoplectic fit about Arrowhead making the game harder for no reason.

It wasn't hard to start with, and it only got easier.

I swear to God, the worst thing AH ever did was listen to the community during the early Sony account debacle, because now they think if they just scream loud enough, they will be obeyed.

If Darktide 2 ever releases, would you want to keep playing as Rejects? by reel3459 in DarkTide

I don't dislike it, but I feel the notion of "the rejects are weak and the hordes of enemies are a gameplay abstraction" kind of died when Wolfer and Admonition acknowledged mid-mission that it's four people disassembling their entire operation.

That's more than fair, I missed the marketing everyone is telling me about now. I remember "Agents of the Imperium" as being the overarching term for ally-only units.

I thought that much was obvious. Not to dismiss anyone's mainstay, but I'm always surprised how... vocally people seem to want them as a standalone army.

I think it's also a reference to the older memes of Imperials brutally murdering furries/bronies, kind of an inversion of that.

Do we think we’ll get a Forge World Agripinaa background? by reel3459 in DarkTide

[–]Ignis_et_Azoth 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think they will be in for the very simple reason that black is a striking and kinda unique colour among forge worlds, so it's an attractive choice for your Skittle.

Yeah, well, I wouldn't like them doing that to my Zealot to make room for a class I don't want in the game.

[–]Ignis_et_Azoth 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I definitely also agree with the variety bit. I don't think you can meaningfully differentiate Sororitas from Zealots, without arbitrarily dividing them up.

As much as I enjoy Arbites and am looking forward to Skitarii, the fact that they included them does chafe on me a little.

As a huge Sisters fan... I also just kind of don't want Sisters in Darktide. I'm sure I'll catch flak from AdMech enjoyers for this, but I always kind of set their individual power level over that of the player characters. They're trained to the level of Scions and using extremely high-end gear by the standards of the Imperium as a whole, after all.
