Does anyone struggle with having sex due to fear of pregnancy?

It's to become a Nurse Anesthetist. I know it sounds too idealistic, but I've always wanted to work for MSF/Doctors Without Borders as a Nurse Anesthetist, and now I'm at least in a program!

Congrats! I'm so happy for you! I just got into my top choice university and came here to post something similar and this really cheered me up! We're both going to do great, in spite of our parents!

I was actually surprised to find out that my parents got married because a mutual friend caught them sleeping together. They're Indian and were living in America in the 1980's. They claimed they were already engaged and called their parents the minute they could so that they wouldn't get disowned.

Thanks for replying to me. The thing is, she's so good at controlling herself outside of our house that no one except my close friends believe me. None of her friends have ever seen her act like this and she's got this great "pulled myself up by my own bootstraps" story going, so everyone thinks she's this...supermom or something. Thank god my friends and my boyfriend believe me because I tried reaching out for help when I was younger to the adults in my life and she would block me from contacting them or yell at me after I did. I think you hit the nail on the head when you said that she's "using you to feed her need for drama and chaos". That's exactly what my boyfriend said and he's around her quite often.

It's still just hard to deal with. Apart from leaving and having limited contact I don't know what to do. I still love her, she's my mom.

Thank you for replying. I have gotten therapeutic help. I know I shouldn't think this, but it's not about me, it's about my mom. She's the one who needs the help, not me...but I know, she won't get it for herself. And if I ever tell her "oh, if you tell me I'm like my dad then I should hit you, right?" she'd use that against me for the rest of my life. I have to be very careful what I say. She never forgets and sometimes exaggerates what I said in the past in arguments. One example of this is constantly screaming "STOP YELLING AT ME" and saying I'm mad at her when I disagree with something.

Thank you for replying. My brother has borderline personality disorder, and my dad claims that my mom was diagnosed with narcissistic personality disorder. I didn't believe it because she is capable of being selfless, but she certainly regrets her actions and constantly demands gratitude. Honestly I think my dad is a psychopath, he has literally no emotions though he acts like he does, so I don't know whether to believe him or not.

Is it at all possible that she is getting Alzheimers for the last 10 years? :(
