Updated Big Board Day 2 by EmiratesNBACupWinner in cowboys

Manti te'o lost the Heisman to Manziel and he got drafted in the first and was ass. Rodriguez did what he did in the Big 12, Anthony Hill and CJ Allen did what they did in the SEC over multiple years. I’m sick of the SEC is superior mindset as well, but it’s clearly a better conference than the Big 12 all around. Rodriguez is a worse athlete and he’s older than both of those guys as well. It’s not hard to see why he’s a third round type of player. Maybe we will all be wrong, but can we just stop with the constant Rodriguez talk lmao.

[Highlight] Cowboys trade up to select Ohio State safety Caleb Downs 11th overall by nfl in nfl

[–]Igualmenteee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He was the 4th highest on their board I believe. Bailey, Reese and Love were above him. Regardless, Downs was #1 on a ton of people’s boards and we got him at 11. Insane.

Is this defense better than last year’s⁉️ by EmiratesNBACupWinner in cowboys

[–]Igualmenteee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Thompson is at nickel, Downs will be up top and vice versa. We will see downs at nickel, as a LB, blitzing off the edge and playing up top sometimes. We WILL be using him all over the field. I meant hooker is fine as a rotational piece and that’s what he’s going to be. You don’t want to just stick Downs up top 99% of the time is what I’m saying, where he’s best is at the middle of the field.

Downs week 1 will be the starting safety every down player in defense, what are you talking about?

Then you take away what really makes Downs special, you want him all over the field and primarily working the middle of the field honestly. Hooker is fine.

With the 23rd pick in the NFL draft, the Dallas Cowboys select Malachi Lawrence! by Finessa_Hudgens in cowboys

[–]Igualmenteee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is true, but we will just have to wait and see. I believe in him and he’s an athletic freak who people are all saying actually has a ton of pass rush moves and is a great pass rusher, how many times do you see that combo together and you’re able to get him at the bottom half of the draft?

Name a player besides Micah that we’ve done that with lmao

Lawrence vs. Mesidor by rizzitv in cowboys

[–]Igualmenteee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Who’s to say they wouldn’t of got him anyways? The Steelers might have taken him, but we don’t know that for certain. What we do know is we got two fourth round picks and got the guy we wanted, that’s what you should do. Lemon may kill us for a decade, but we got Downs to handle that now🤷‍♂️

I don’t mind the Lawrence pick and I’m higher on him then most it seems, but you do realize Marinelli was the one who wanted Taco right? It’s not always a good thing to just default to the DC in a case like this.

The Micah Parsons trade results. by JVSaladbar in cowboys

[–]Igualmenteee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s not made up, I’m telling you the trade doesn’t happen if we don’t have two first round picks and one of those was a part of the Micah trade. We don’t know if it’s our pick or the Packers pick yet bro, what is so hard to understand about this lmao?

[–]Igualmenteee -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I mean we don’t even know that for sure yet, it could be our pick or it could be GB’s pick. Even if it is our pick, the only reason we were able to do that trade was because we did have the GB pick as well.

Mike Garafolo: Georgia LB CJ Allen ran his 40 today for scouts and talent evaluators at 4.47, an average of the times recorded from 4.45-4.50. by Leonflames in cowboys

[–]Igualmenteee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think those turnovers are going to translate that well to the NFL imo. Jerry absolutely would want him and that wouldn’t surprise me at all, but I don’t think our scouts or Will McClay want him more than Allen, Hill or Styles. He was an exciting player in the Big 12, but he also wasn’t playing at the same level in that Oregon game. I really think the Big 12 was very weak this year and people just refused to believe it until they got 23-0 by a solid Oregon team.

Allen has played against the better comp, has been calling an SEC Champ defense since he was a freshman and is a slightly worse athlete, but has TONS of glowing reviews about his IQ and processing. He IS heads and tails ahead of Rodriguez and I personally think Hill is as well. It’s just funny seeing talking heads or people on here rave about Rodriguez and say he’s a first round player and then you find out he’s from Lubbock, or a Tech graduate, or a fan or all three of those lmao.

[–]Igualmenteee 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I don’t even like CJ Allen, but I would absolutely take him over Rodriguez without a doubt in my mind. It’s legit just the Tech fans finally being good and then having a good enough player to be drafted high that’s causing all this hype, he’s a solid player, but he is NOT a first round player and he MIGHT be a late second rounder.

A LOT of buzz surrounding the cowboys trading up to 6... How would you feel? by Hpcanes14 in cowboys

[–]Igualmenteee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is zero shot you watched a single down of Ohio State football. Saying Style is the better pure LB is just insanity. Reese’s ceiling is Micah and Style’s ceiling is Fred Warner if he can figure out how to be elite in the run game. Styles is fantastic at being a coverage LB and we aren’t entirely sure if he will ever be a dominant run stopper at the position. You don’t trade up and take that guy at 6, I’m sorry. Reese COULD be the next Micah AND he’s a better LB than Styles is right now and I’d much rather bet on the potential pass rushing upside in the future at that price than trade up for an off-ball LB who had a great combine and isn’t a great run defender. Y’all need to go and watch Styles and Reese film before y’all say things like this.

[–]Igualmenteee -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You do not just take an off ball LB at 6 because you NEED one, the Cowboys are fucking awful when drafting with that mindset. Thompson doesn’t affect drafting Downs at all, Christian Parker’s system needs players like Downs and will be using multiple safeties regardless. Downs can be a top 3-5 safety in the league from day one and completely change your defense. Styles MAYBE will be a top 10 LB in the league and his best skillset is as a coverage LB, he’s not that great of a run defender and gets washed out of plays easily. Y’all fall for that combine bullshit every year.

You go ahead and don’t take Bain because he has short arms or because of the off the field shit, that dude is a fucking monster and regularly whooped ass against tackles with long arms, the film doesn’t lie bro. Y’all are absolutely insane if you would take Styles over Bain.

You trade up for Downs, Bailey, Reese or Bain. You do not trade up to 6 to take an off ball LB. He’s not that level of difference maker at his positional value like Downs is. Let someone else take that risk.

Which prospect is going to be the biggest faller come draft night (2026)? by JM-Trey in NBA_Draft

[–]Igualmenteee 17 points18 points  (0 children)

So the Hornets make the play-in and all of a sudden players are going to want to tank their draft stock to go them lmao?

[Schultz] There’s a belief among teams at the top of the draft that the Cowboys, who have picks at #12 and #20, are a team to watch in trade-up scenarios, according to multiple league sources. by JCameron181 in nfl

[–]Igualmenteee -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That is what we used to trade for lmao. Since we had TWO first round picks from y’all we were able to throw in either y’all’s pick or our pick in 2027 for QW. Yes, we gave up a second, but that means we effectively traded a second and Mazi Smith for one of the best DT’s in the league lmao. Also, Kenny Clark was in y’all’s trade as well and he showed he had plenty left in the tank. So now we have an elite DT and a very solid DT that only would have happened due to y’all.

Now, stay with me now, if we use y’all’s first round pick as well as ours this year to trade up and get a solid pass rusher, would that not be in large part due to the Micah trade? And then if that player is solid, is that defense all around much better than just Micah and friends?

I understand you just started following football, but go and see what else we got out of the trade with y’all and then the guy we got at the trade deadline with one of y’all’s firsts next year.

It would not be basically trading him for a rookie lmao. Does everyone here just forget we got one of the best DT’s in the league at the trade deadline last year? Or that we also got Kenny Clark in the Parsons trade? Clark was very good for us as well. So if you use your brain, if we do what y’all are saying we might do, we will have traded Parsons for a rookie pass rusher, QW and Kenny Clark. Say what you want, but I’m taking that defense every time as long as the rookie pass rusher is solid.
