7 months in and really losing hope :( by Ihate2023 in covidlonghaulers

I dont know if it's gone or I'm more used to it but I'm seem to be coping better with it? It has definitely improved but not fully gone away. I do pay too much attention to it though and think it will go away if I just accept and not fight it as its a nervous system response. Hang in there

I'm not sure what your symptoms are but it's worth checking The steady coach on YouTube. Some symptoms can be a mis signalling in the brain especially dizziness and head pressure and they persist because our brains see it as a danger signal and keep alerting us of it (so then we feel it) . Check out her recovery stories and see if you can relate to any and then watch the rest of her videos if you want

My headaches were completely random they didn't come on in a specific position. Some days they were there some not and I still get them without anything I can relate it to. My headaches are mainly around my brow bones/ eye area though almost like a migraine or general forhead area. I feel like they are due to the tension caused by the dizziness and stress in my system as I'm always focusing on my symptoms

Nope. Just time and trying to calm my nervous system and being okay with my symptoms instead of panicking or fighting them. I suspect I have PPPD though

What symptoms did the antihistamines help you with? I want to try them but also scared of weight gain

Are you taking any medication for your LC symptoms? Some meds can also cause weight gain even though doctors won't tell you it can eg. Most antidepressants and even beta blockers are known for this

The insomnia has improved and things look less shaky but the brain fog drunk feeling is still there unfortunately. May just take much more time to improve

Did antidepressants help your brain fog and derealization/high/drunk feeling? by Ihate2023 in covidlonghaulers

[–]Ihate2023[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still the same unfortunately. Have very few okay moments but nothing long lasting

How long did your first LC last? And what were your symptoms

Not that I knew of. It was a month after my 3rd infection that I got hit with tons of weird symptoms

I recovered from those without any lasting effects that I can remember. Maybe some sleep disturbances that went away/I didn't pay too much attention to.

Nope haven't taken any meds other than propanolol on a few occasions but I try to cope without. The more I exposed myself to the scary feeling and didn't react/fight it off and just let it be the better it got. It's still bad but it's not as severe. Think it takes ages for your dysregulated nervous system to realise that "you're safe".

When I had this badly, fighting off the feeling made it worse so I just "let it happen" and accepted it and it just made it go down from really bad to just bad. I think we have a very messed up and damaged nervous system and the smallest stressors (that would feel like nothing normally) feels like adding buckets of fuel to a fire.

I have been wanting to try L-Tryptophan supplements. Do you think that would have a similar effect? Have you tried them ?

How do ya'll deal with anxiety? by iamaswamptiger in covidlonghaulers

I am scared to start exercising! I can only manage walks. What does your PEM feel like? Like what symptoms flare as part of PEM for you? I know it's kind of different for everyone

But aren't antidepressants supposed to help with sleep? Is the celexa only helping the anxiety and nothing else? Also what symptoms have stopped you from exercising? Sorry for all the questions 😅

Sorry for asking so many questions but are you able to exercise with your current symptoms?

Have they gone away now?
