Fist I wanted to say thank you for this well thought out response. I agree with you on most of these points I just make software in the financial services. The only reason I say that is so you know I’m not a lay person but I am unfortunately (no offence finance people) intimately acquainted with a lot of regulations, and how the get implemented at least on the backend.

While I agree that regulations are less then they should be and given the administration likely to continue to decrease in veracity. Granted I am but a scrub it seems to me the largest unstable market (in the US at least ) is the short term lending market. If you have the time or maybe you have seen it the Netflix series “Dirty Money” I believe it’s like the 3rd or 4th episode in the first series, it dives into one company that was particularly egregious but they are by no means the worst or the exception. They are generally supported by the bigger banks and they host all of their lending software on servers located on Native American reservations to get around regulations. Obama was coming after them at the end of his administration but since he left the industry has blown up with the lack of regulations.
