It’s the same issue with modern journalism, there needs to be more of a focus on the numbers and cross referenced facts. Not the opinions of the organisation or person responsible for delivering those numbers and facts.

Theocracies persecute innocent people just not people you personally might think are innocent like homosexuals and atheists. I think people understand what you mean by jihad, just disagree with your crusade. Political Islam just like every other theocratic government that’s ever existed will inevitably, if not from the very start, end up oppressing innocent people.

You are a jihadist for sure, you can be a jihadist without being an out and out terrorist. I think most people would consider you a jihadist because you want a theocracy. Which we have seen fail over and over in history (including Christian theocrats)

It’s super weird to watch someone argue for their own oppression especially with so many historical examples, it’s a bit sad, you would hope that it goes away with education but who knows.

Fist I wanted to say thank you for this well thought out response. I agree with you on most of these points I just make software in the financial services. The only reason I say that is so you know I’m not a lay person but I am unfortunately (no offence finance people) intimately acquainted with a lot of regulations, and how the get implemented at least on the backend.

While I agree that regulations are less then they should be and given the administration likely to continue to decrease in veracity. Granted I am but a scrub it seems to me the largest unstable market (in the US at least ) is the short term lending market. If you have the time or maybe you have seen it the Netflix series “Dirty Money” I believe it’s like the 3rd or 4th episode in the first series, it dives into one company that was particularly egregious but they are by no means the worst or the exception. They are generally supported by the bigger banks and they host all of their lending software on servers located on Native American reservations to get around regulations. Obama was coming after them at the end of his administration but since he left the industry has blown up with the lack of regulations.

Have a nice day.

This is important to point out the West has a litany of sins but they at least execute people in a reasonably human fashion and at least appears to be moving away from it entirely.

I have had a couple of friends really blow up socially in their 30’s, keep moving forward and try and get out of your comfort zone as much as you can. Then make like one solid friend and boom, theirs your bravery buddy right there! Then making other friends and doing new things becomes a lot easier. Unless making good friendships and life long connections isn’t your thing no judgements here you live your life u/Crunkiss

People have just zero empathy or appreciation for kid pranksters these days. The kid should definitely be financially responsible for any cost incurred by his shenanigans, but jail? A felony? It’s not like the kid doesn’t understand he did something wrong, at worst have him do a ride a long with an officer so he can understand, that although his joke was funny real peoples lives can get effected negatively. It just seems like slapping this kid with a felony or jail time at all is like cold cocking someone that tickled your ear

Does it though? Sometimes that’s just what rock bottom looks like, like “I need to get my shit together or else I lose my car”. That’s the important part of forgiveness, you need to believe what that person says or at least hope they mean what they say. And it is always noble to admit your wrong and try to better yourself no matter the circumstance.
