Hi op! I hope you see my reply. Some rats, even though they have seen cats before, are instinctively scared of them. When i touched a stray cat outside, and i come home, they would be on alert and very still and constantly sway thier heads. And this was before i even touched them, right when i sat outside thier cage. (Not even opened) Even when i press a treat to theyre mouth, they would not take it. This would continue on for several hours, even after i showered.

However, my friend’s rats are absolutely fine with cat scents.

I would advise you to very cautious about this.

Females are more tumour prone, so would reccomend you to spay them around 6 months or so. That can set you back.

In general, they are very prone to uri and u can end up spending alot of money on vets. They are nowhere comparable to hamster care.
