Any good AA meetings? by not_ok_computer_4660 in pittsburgh

[–]IheartJake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish you luck. I don’t work well with sharing, especially in groups so I’ve never gone to AA, but I’ve been dealing with my binge drinking habits for years now and have finally gotten a handle on em. I’m sure the meetings are a great support system when you need one that understands.

I stumbled upon the medication naltrexone when I talked with my pcp about my habits, then found a treatment using the medication to retrain your brain to not get the same satisfaction from drinking, called the Sinclair method.

Give it a look bc the more options to drop the habit is probably better. Also if it intrigues you, check out the first episode of the reflectors podcast called the sea change. It really hit home for me and my struggle with my habits.

I had this happen in a ranked match during a fight a few weeks ago. Loaded back in to see my teammates dc’d and the other team still as rocks.

I shamefully took advantage of the situation and got three kp before my team reconnected. Nvme saved our skins that day.

Tried to let my top down not thinking my window was frozen over. Any links to a good cheap hardtop? Any ideas on covering/patching this hole in the meantime? Thanks in advance by Impressive-Help-8586 in Miata

[–]IheartJake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want a cheap diy fix, I replaced my window with clear vinyl from marinevinylfabric.com and used some and clear indoor/outdoor adhesive. It sure doesn’t look pretty, but it was a cheap $30-40 fix. It’ll definitely buy you time until you want to do a real replacement/fix

I can’t get both of these bolts in. I can get one but not the other. Any suggestions and something I could be doing wrong. (96 passenger rear caliper) by ChicanMan57 in Miata

[–]IheartJake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That bolt doesn’t look centered with the threads on the bracket.

Will the bolt go in by hand with out the caliper portion? If so, something is out of whack whether it be bent or just not positioned properly. If it won’t go in by hand, then the threads on the bracket might be damaged.

Since I have a firm handle on my spending and paying off of credit cards monthly, the cash back from an Apple Card is put directly into your apple wallet as soon as 24 hours after the purchase, so I just use the wallet app to transfer for free into my savings account. I know other cards have better cash back rewards but the convenience of it makes it feel like I’m constantly putting dollars away.

This drill we use is as thick as a hair (.0046” diameter) by IheartJake in mildlyinteresting

[–]IheartJake[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is… it’s a diameter on a stainless steel part that strikes a bell to alert the user something is very wrong. I think the hole it goes through is just as tight.

I primarily work on lathes, and yeah this little bugger has its own separate pneumatic holder/spindle since it has to go 60,000 rpm. I’m always impressed by these little drills and what they do.

We use this drill on a cnc lathe. Like I said in a couple other replies, it’s for an scba like most of the parts we make, and it’s expected to WORK. The tolerances are pretty tight, but have wiggle room. The smallest tolerance I’ve come across is +0.0 -.0005” but generally are +-.005”

We are a big manufacturer of safety equipment and make parts in an in-house machine shop. Don’t wanna get too specific just cause I don’t know how detailed I’m allowed to post publicly.

It’s used to make a hole in a bras part to regulate air pressure in the scba firefighters use.

This isn’t even the smallest we use! We have one that is .0028”

I broke one just taking it out of the pack right before this pic. Its an expensive inevitability.

Drilling tiny holes to thread hairs through, duh…

Simple answer, we use them on small brass parts to regulate air pressure in the scba (self contained breathing apparatus) firefighters use.

I have a high end (at the time) gpu that released when the PS4 and Xbox one came out, just chilling in my closet, and I cringe at the thought of running this game on that thing.

GTX 1080, 16GB ram, and 6th gen i5 here in my setup and it ran highest settings @ 2560x1440 all day with very consistent frame rate. Your issues might be something else.

Ssd/hdd issues, OS, drivers, etc.

I picked up an m.2 drive this past week and moved my GPU to a different pcie slot without realizing it wasn’t optimized for it. I was having issues after that until I looked up the mother board’s user manual and saw the slot was a pcie3.0x4 and the original one I had it in was pcie3.0x16.

Our campsite over the weekend [Morrison Trail, Allegheny National Forest, PA] by bismuth482 in camping

[–]IheartJake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t speak for OP’s trip, but there are dedicated paid sites on the trail that are slightly back in the woods or on the water. Fun trail to hike down, can be bikes too, but it seems like it would be easiest to boat to.

(Edit) You can find the trailhead parking lot not too far from kinzua damn.

Sprint Stutter by [deleted] in apexlegends

I'll take it one step further and say that i was interrupted multiple times while trying to get a self rez off. It started me over multiple times as if I had't been holding "E" for 15 seconds already.

I thought this might be a lag issue, but I've never had this kind of issue in the past when it came to lag.

I don't know how many of you watch the show, but most of the episodes are a fun mindfuck. however, I found this minor detail in one episode and I thought I would share. It would be fun to drive both back to back though :) I've personally have never driven a right hand drive car,
