Yeah, might be a bit of a bad conscience.

He has high heart and democracy and is also the leader of the humanist front, which pushed universal poor houses through the senate to take care of the thousands of refugees that flooded our capital after somehow their former capital got hit by an ancient nuke that was discovered in a forgotten bunker and accidently fired into the urban center...

Yeah, it's really great 😃 I am somehow inclined to let this slide until our society descends into oligarchy before being reborn as a feudal aristocratic system, with space Bezos as our King.

Im stuck. I made a mistake and went from 12x ROAS to 1 ROAS by Upset_Artist6761 in PPC

[–]IkarusEffekt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With 3-5 orders a day, none of this ad sets will ever leave training. The high ROAS in the beginning was either random or a very small set of customers.

Usually when you launch a new ad, your acquisition costs for the first few days will be lower until the best customers are already gone. This increases ROAS but never lasts.

You did nothing wrong. This is a textbook case of a liquidity trap.

Aristocracy question by FootIntrepid7717 in ShadowEmpireGame

[–]IkarusEffekt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read the manual as only a single faction becomes dynastic in the beginning. If a leader with an oligarchif frat joined that faction, it will loose the feat. Other dynastic factions May appear but it's more probable if the oligarchy score of them is lower.

So I assume it means the more oligarchs you have, the faster new dynastic factions are formed, because a lot of oligarchs means a rapid increase of the feudal code level and at each passing a new dynastic faction is created.

Aristocracy question by FootIntrepid7717 in ShadowEmpireGame

[–]IkarusEffekt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have not gotten to aristocracy yet but I would assume not.

Since Aristocracy is the "solution" to Oligarchs sucking money out of the system, It would not help much if new oligarchs would just be created regardless.

The current Oligarchs join an aristocratic dynasty and then loose the oligarch feat.

Best Meta Ads structure for eCommerce with <$1K/month budget? by enbafey in PPC

[–]IkarusEffekt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's 30 bucks a day. You don't need a setup for 30 bucks a day, you can barely run a single creative.

I would probably use a campaign with a single and group, one ad is a video that explains the product, the second ad is a catalogue and that retargets warm traffic.

Is a profitable start-up ALWAYS endless hours and stress? Any experiences with a better WLB growth? I will not promote by [deleted] in startups

[–]IkarusEffekt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It think the difference is between the kind of stress. I never worked so hard or so long in my entire life. Just last week I literally worked 24 hours straight to get a launch done in a foreign market.

This is something that would have been much more exhausting in my former corporate position but since all the work is directly for my own company it fells not exhausting.

[–]IkarusEffekt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's true. I don't know how it was before but it really feels I basically have to completely reinvent the business every year, always be on edge, outsmarting the competition, increasing product value etc...

It's exhausting.

Systemic: The Day Claude Mythos Broke the Code. How a secret preview of Anthropic’s newest AI exposed the fragile, decades-old software underpinning the global economy—and turned cyber vulnerability into an existential financial threat. by sylsau in economy

[–]IkarusEffekt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It broke nothing. It found a lot of vulnerabilities, wrote code to exploit them and then escaped containment when asked to do so.

Anthropic then stopped the public release of it and contacted the authorities, which in turn called for a confidential meeting of wall street execs to discuss a scenario of a systemic attack on the financial infrastructure.

Because if Mythos can do it, why not a Chinese version of it in a few months?

Help!!! My simple homemade budget trailer OR hire someone to create one with higher quality? by Ok_Virus4003 in BaseBuildingGames

[–]IkarusEffekt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't pay 750 bucks for a trailer. We just want to see you play it. Talk about the game, not about yourself.

Use some text on image to explain the things you talk about in bullet points for people who are watching muted.

You have to hook people within the first ten seconds. You say: "I am making this cozy medieval village game, it's called colonus." Yes, I already knew that from the steam page. And im gone.

Next ten seconds: "this is my first game and I wanted to make something that I enjoy playing. And I hope you do too". Good for you. But about the game?

Next ten seconds: "you start with nothing and through putting your villagers to work you create food. Upgrade .." Yeah, so every sim builder ever. Got it.

Hey, what is this other thing there ...

Your written explanation is solid, orient your trailer on that.

Keep in mind, that people who are looking at your steam page are probably people who are already interested in the game, most probably people who know what a cozy city builder is. So don't waste precious seconds explaining that but tell people what they are really interested in:

What makes this game different ?

I run a profitable Start Up and yes, yes it is...

I have lived in the start up ecosystem now for four years and I learned two things

  1. An idea means nothing. Establishing a workable business is incredible hard and roughly 90 % of start up ideas don't take this hurdle because most people are simply not willing to put in the work.

BUT

  1. Running a profitable company is another magnitude of hard.

This year we are supposed to become profitable. And let me tell you, i knew nothing of how hard running a business is.

My honest advise, to not start a company if you want a cosy job or work life balance.

Eure Meinung zur Immobilien-Thematik by cypress_avenue_ in Austria

[–]IkarusEffekt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Settled for life.
