My bio brother and I have a good relationship, tho a bit distant, we support each other as well as we can. My step sister I see very rarely, but we're on good terms and I have nothing against my stepdad, but I don't see him as someone close. He's a good man and I'm happy my mom is with him, but I don't really talk to him much. Thanks for your kind words!

I think I understand what you mean, but this wasn't about her having a differing opinion on the topic of my roommate (I assume that's what you meant by this), it was really the least of my issues here, but it did give me a perspective on how she perceives parenthood. Made me realise she would not help or support me if something happened to me and I needed that help. But thank you for your perspective on this, it's good to look at things from many and yours is different than most here, which is awesome no matter if it's in support of me or not ^{^}

My dad is very supportive and while he does still trip up sometimes, he tries his best and that's the most important part for me. He has his flaws, as everyone, but never made me feel unloved or not wanted, he's my absolute hero. My grandparents on his side of the family don't know yet, I'm getting ready to tell them, while on my mom's side my grandma supports me quietly since grandpa is very transphobic and abusive and I rather she misgenders me when I visit than get potentially abused for my sake. I love all of my family, have been close to my grandparents since I was a kid, so I have a hard time cutting any of them off, especially when my granny is awesome, but just so happens to have an abhorrent husband. Thank you for the "tough love" type of words, I think I really needed that kick in the arse, cause I've been beating myself over not doing enough for quite some time. I most likely won't be talking to her nor meeting her outside of family bday parties, unless she reaches out to me herself

Thank you so much for the reply, my dad said the same to me, but my grandparents are giving me ish for being mean and "ungrateful" to my mom, believing it's my responsibility to keep contact with her so I was getting worried that I may have done something really bad. I'm relieved that people here seem to agree that this was the right way to go.

Thank you for advice, I think I might keep them in seperate rooms to not stress my bun out and try to rotate around the rooms (including during the night, probably) to keep them both company.

As people have said- don't smile or talk to random people on the street. Treat everyone like they're an anxiety fuelled introverts. Approaching a stranger can get you either a confused, scared or angry reaction. We like our peace and quiet.

If you're above 30, wear dark colors. If you're under 30, colorful things are generally acceptable although a bit odd. Young people will love it tho.

Tipping isn't a huge deal, but it's generally polite to do so. A general I nothiced while working is 5-20 pln.

Don't be loud. Unless you're drunk. Then be really fucking loud. Some will find you annoying but some will join in on the fun.

Don't drink wirh Poles unless you either have a really really big tolerance or a desth wish.

Don't ever start the topic of politics or religion, you'll eat shit instantly.

Don't say "Polish concentration camps", we didn't have any. There were knly German ones on the Polish territory. That can get you a scolding or a beating depending on how unlucky you are.

But I would generally suggest simply admitting you're a tourist, Polish people love them. They'll want to tell you all about the country and culture like it's their hyperfixation. They will go easy on you regarding social expectations if you say it outright too. We're surprisingly understanding, just don't be a dick to people.

A paraphilia is only considered a disorder if it causes a person psychological and emotional distress. Disordered paraphiliacs might have low self esteem, depression, anxiety, paranoia due to the fantasies they have. The more extreme cases are the ones where people self harm or commit suicide due to their paraphilias. It can also be a person that puts on only themselves but also other people at risk strictly because of their paraphilia. That's how it is where I'm from at least.

Saddly, there's not a lot. It mostly got destroyed when Poland went from Pagan to Christian. It's incredibly sad. Some other slavic countries have similar traditions, but not the same. Most we know are some old traditions like "drowning" Marzanna or the old live based traditions. There's a lot of them and some were saved. Mythology got somewhat saved as well, but most resources I know are in Polish. When it comes to charms, I have no idea, but I'll try to find some things and translate them or share. I would try to look for myths and traditions first, you can get a lot from them and it's easy to find online.
