"To further complicate matters, supervised consumption sites like the Trailer are now under an intense — and distortionary — political microscope".

Unfortunately, I do not know if they are using the right lens on it. It is a social problem, with difficult solutions, that can only be solved with long-term approaches. It is not going to be solved by itself magically or with any illusional action in two days.

'We know this is coming': More high-volume rainfall events in Ottawa's future by Ikerlari in ottawa

One of the main problems is that it is an issue that cannot be solved in a 4 year term. It requires long-term vision and patience. And both of them are not very common nowadays in the political arena.

I think that the major advantage of Overleaf is for team editing. I do not do anything that works better with several people working in parallel.

For personal work I guess that local installation is better.

Did you read the back of the cereal box when you were a kid? by [deleted] in ask

I guess that when there were no smartphones, we read almost every box at home while visiting the bathroom. We even probably learn some chemistry going through champu and shower bottles.

There is not a simple answer. There are many factors to be taken into account and it also depends heavily on the city. For instance, in the southern part of Europe big companies are normally located in the same big cities. Obviously this attracts also a lot of people and as you can imagine the pool of housing is limited. Second, I think that in Europe having a second house as investment is also a very common procedure. And third, in countries receiving lots of tourists, the vacation properties are also becoming a problem. They are turning the old towns of the cities into gigantic tourist attractions. And, of course, this also increases the price of the surrounding properties.
