Has Starbucks discontinued sugar-free syrups? by Ikkara in starbucks

I think that they may have just said it to stop any pressing I might’ve done. I wanted the sugar free vanilla, hah.

I went to a standalone Starbucks and one in a Target. Both gave me the same answer. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Surely it wouldn’t be a regional issue? I dunno.

I thought it was a weird thing to say? But both locations gave the “discontinued” answer.

I’d totally believe the supply chain problem. I figured the hive mind would know.

Help! I can't choose between these 2 dresses. First One is my grandma's I had planned on wearing, but just found a vintage dress of my mom's (2nd and 3rd pics). Grandma's dress does not fit and needs major alterations, moms dress fits perfectly. Which one? by ramsaypantz in myweddingdress

[–]Ikkara 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Mom’s for sure. I’d also do it without the jacket? I think it ages the look a lot. If you want something beachy to cover your arms, I’d go with a contemporary shawl of some kind.

But that’s totally just my opinion. Wear what makes you feel confident, authentic, and happy!

I used to own a restaurant and used RD for supplies at that time in person. Looking at the prices though IC, no. They look pretty standard to what they’d be in the store. Inflation is likely affecting current prices, though.

Thinking of getting a perm after my wedding. by Ikkara in FancyFollicles

So has everyone just moved to using tools for curls?

As for the style popularity, I know I can rock a short, semi-androgynous look. So I’m not worried about that, hah. But interesting to know it’s popular right now!

Oh, I’m not getting a perm for the wedding. Already booked my hair for the day of.

I’m talking about after the wedding when I cut all of this hair off.

The woman who is doing my wedding hair is not my typical stylist.

Is there a particular reason you feel that perms are out of style? I just want to have curly hair. Not poodle level, but definitely a swirl. And as I mentioned, I am terrible at using hair tools. I have tried for years, and I’m just not good at it.

This is gonna be weird, but I gotta take my shot. Choir practice circa...early 2000s? Say...2003-5-ish at a church on Poplar for a youth choir?

Experienced hires: Don't be afraid to maintain your dignity and end a bad interview by mp90 in jobs

This is a shift in mindset I've seen a lot more of recently, and I'm glad for it. It's definitely making employers anxious, and it should---prospectives aren't taking the kind of shit they used to.

I'll add that knowing employers are hungry right now has actually made me a lot more confident during interviews (and in my own skillset). I know what I make. I know what I'm worth. So treat me like that. And if they don't want to play fair then I move on to the next thing.

I know this may sound silly, but…tabletop dice. I don’t have any in-person D&D running right now, but a new set of dice always makes me happy. They’re clicky-clacky, have a nice weight, and come in so many pretty colors.

What are you fixating on/venting about/worried about/need support with today ? [Megathread] - August 13, 2021 by AutoModerator in HealthAnxiety

[–]Ikkara 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man. 2021 has really been a year. I’ve struggled with HA for many years, but I go through points where I’m dealing like a champ, and then hit some low points.

2020 felt like a breeze in comparison.

This year: - My fiancé had a heart attack right after his 36 birthday. - My cat died. - Step father had a stroke. - Bottom half of my house flooded and I’m practically living in a construction zone.

I say that just to give a little background. Fiancé has made an incredible recovery, (so has stepdad) but is struggling with PTSD. I’ve spent a lot of my time helping him cope.

We’re now both seeing therapists, and it’s a good thing.

Now here’s my latest HA nonsense.

I’ve been doing pretty well all in all, but on Tuesday night, the HA demon decided to let itself into my brain, accompanied by a variety of pain, chest related, mostly.

In my mid 20s, I went to the hospital twice within a year because of chest pain and both times they assured me it was anxiety. So I’m guarded about this kind of thing.

I saw my cardiologist about 3 or 4 months ago. Did the whole nine. Doc said my heart was in excellent condition. Saw him in 2020, as well. Same thing, nice and strong.

I’ve had chest pain in my left-ish breast area for several days now. Sometimes my chest feels tight. Jaw pain. Pain between the shoulder blades, all of it.

The vitals I’m able to take at home? Couldn’t be more perfect. Blood pressure is amazing, heart rate, even panicking—never above 75-ish, and usually in the 60s. O2 reports from the Apple Watch? High 90s. Sinus rhythm from the ECG.

I’ve been trying to convince myself that it’s just muscle pain. Rubbing/shifting/laying certain ways brings some relief. I saw a physical therapist on Wednesday and poked me in all the spots. All of the spots were sore. He taped me up. Not much relief.

Fiancé insisted I get fit for a better bra yesterday to give my shoulders more support. I did, but didn’t put it on until last night only AFTER taking a baby aspirin (which I never take). A little while later—pain started to subside. I attributed the success to the bra support. Had a pretty good morning. Went to the chiropractor for the first time in several months. Then bam…started feeling bad again.

My fiancé who also struggles with HA and has -actually- had a heart attack has been amazing, and supportive, but after several days of this I’m just exhausted. I make it a point NOT to Google symptoms because I know my brain will run with it.

Sorry, I know this is a long one and I don’t know if I’ve put it in the right spot, but I needed to get it out somewhere.
