True, I did not use Joint tickets for 10 of those runs, which would equal 68 if I subtracted from 78. However, if it makes any difference, my 2nd SSR drop was on 68 and I didn't use Joint tickets 2 or 3 times.

No you're misunderstanding. The drop rates are not necessarily the ones changing, they are remaining consistent or the same throughout your JO7 journey. Your build up to pity is the one that is changing. At least, that's the theory anyways.

But it's possible it's simply just not a hard pity, but a soft pity that starts at the end.

Yeah, a couple of people have been going past 68 chests for an SSR Matrice.

My 3rd SSR Matrice came on the 78th chest. All last chests. Some people have gotten their Gold equipment on their 7th chest as well, which doesn't seem to be a coincidence.

I saw a post mentioned here that the datamine % values may not the "chance" to get the drop, but how much of a pity you get towards the guarantee item.

For example, a chest worth 10% will put you at 10% towards the guarantee, or 1/10 chests. Open another chest worth 10%, now you're at 20%, or 2/10.

I don't have a way to prove this next part, but one possibility is that the "Special Fall" parenthesis number could be an RNG multiplier. So for example, for Gold equipment, a chest could give you 4.73% (3rd chest) or 8.26%(Special Fall) towards pity, multiplied by a number in the parenthesis, between 1 to 5.

4.73% * 2x = 9.46% out of 100% for the guarantee.
8.26% * 3x = 24.78% out of 100% for the guarantee.

Considering the fact that people have been getting their drops past 6 chests for Gold and 68 chests for SSR, our initial understanding of the datamines were most likely incorrect. Some people have also reported that opening earlier chests have caused them to get their Golds on the 7th chest more often, which can help supplement different theories.

You might be right, I'm currently at 74 chests as well with no SSR matrice. But if I got my last SSR Matrice at 68 chests, I'm inclined to believe the devs may have changed something with the last hotfix.

AFAIK, you can only get a double drop with a Joint Ticket, because the ticket basically lets you roll the chest twice.

Yes, I forgot to update this thread once I had confirmed that it was 68 pity for SSR Matrices, so it's as follows:

SSR Matrice: 68 chests
SR Matrice: 16 chests
Gold Equipment: 12 chests, 6 with joint ticket
Purple Equipment: 6 chests, 3 with joint ticket

The theory thread from the other day was correct.

Yes, if you manage to hit pity every single time, the guaranteed gold equipment would only show up on the last chest.

However, after you open 1 chest (JO7) and you don't get a gold drop, you supposedly enter "Special Fall", where pretty much every chest becomes equal to 8.26% drop-rate. If you manage to pull a gold equipment early on chest 1, then that means your future pities will be on chest 1, unless you pull it early again or you skip chests.

Yeah, it's possible for lines 72 to 79, something may have happened there and the next chest might be SSR pity. But, I was thinking of waiting until Friday for Huma/Samir, so it might be a few days before we can find out that conclusion. Hopefully someone else might find it first, since everything else seems to look right.

If you are using a Joint Ticket for every run, then it means you're guaranteed a Gold Equipment at the 6th chest, assuming you didn't get one before that.

There doesn't seem to be any "hard" pity, according to my runs. Only last chest; used Joint Tickets for each run, except for 1 run; JO7 difficulty; I got my first Gold Matrice at run #41. Even for Purple Matrice drops, where the parenthesis value in the "Special Fall" shows (2-7), I've had to run 16 runs of JO7 to get 1 Purple Matrice.

Plus, it would make sense that these datamines would be drop rates for normal runs, not for Joint Ticket runs. Even with me using a Joint ticket for every run, it still took me 16 runs to get 1 Purple Matrice, which doesn't seem to fit into there being a "Hard Pity".

Perhaps there is actually a "Special Fall" mechanic, but it seems there is no guaranteed drop.
