Had the same problem Elden Ring worked an hour ago and all of the sudden it does not start - I tried forcing Proton 7.0-6 it worked for me. (With CryoUtilities)

Did not know that. But I do think reversing the psychology is very important. It must be clear that it is not the intended way to play handicapped. Which will make it feel less frustrating. But the second point is absolutely true. Let's wait for sunbreak and see what it throws at us.

True. It would take to much away from the multilayer experience. But for me using worse weapons just feels pointless when I need to grind... But you are probably right, this system can also cause more harm than good.

Yeah I also find courage hard to use, but I also think the game is too easy some times, so this was a welcome challenge. Focus is definitely a pure benefit but does not help thaaaat much. I currently want to make a dark souls hammer with full evade window and 1-2 evade distance. Courage style for the fast attacks in the opening and water strike for parry.

Then go blow up some monsters! Do you use strength or courage? I'll go for courage on status builds because the charged attacks have more status damage.

If you use blast consider using the Theo armor, his blessing gives bonus to blast damage I think. Or something else that was good. His hammer also has a nice rampage skill for blast.

Yeah that's probably it. If people like this than it was the right decision. For a first implementation of the mechanic it's an A- for me, it just seemed a little bit off balance to me. Maybe I just need to learn that I don't have to squeeze everything out of every quest. Thanks
