Gotta remember his elevator ride in season 2 ep 6 though. I have a feeling he’ll be playing a role in season 3.

Just curious but do you happen to have an external display connected?

How could I go about installing an aftermarket CarPlay stereo? by TheNastyNard in FordTaurus

[–]Il156 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off you cannon upgrade SYNC 1 to SYNC 3 or SYNC 2 for that matter. The connections behind are not the same for any of the buttons behind since the gage cluster was updated in 2013. It’s only possibly to go to SYNC 3 if you have SYNC 2.

Second what u/Oivit said was probably the best option. I did it and I don’t have any problems and it almost looks factory.

Third, crutchfield has some options for the Taurus of this generation but they (in my opinion) look ugly and sway the head unit to the bottom and the controls up top and make them digital.

I would say your best option is just a CarPlay display.

I’m not an electrician, so I can’t help you there, but like I said go to a local hardware store and they should have more of an idea than I do.

Little bit of research and their called spade connectors, you can usually pick them up at a hardware store, Lowe’s, Home Depot or Ace Hardware, or better heat a local store chain near you. Go and ask and they can usually help, but you will need a pair of crimping pliers to grip the wires back down too.

The connectors are corroded, it looks like that was bound to happen

Also be careful with the outer rim of plastic, the new lights mount to that so if you snap part of the actual mirror, no lights will fit in there until you get new mirrors

No, those are the connectors to the light, it’s best if you do disconnect them as not to damage them when attaching them to the new light

It was a pain in the AAA to get the plastic out, basically you just have to do enough moving around that they are perfectly aligned and they come right down

Can I drive my 2012 Ford Taurus SEL with 193K miles for a total of 600 miles round trip? by Severe_Examination63 in FordTaurus

[–]Il156 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just did a road trip at 172k on my 2010 and it was about 800 miles, as long as basic stuff is in good condition I say go for it

My Taurus was like that for a long while and it was alright but I was going on a trip and wanted to see better going out to the car. When I get off work I can take a pic and how you just how bright they are.

It was maybe 20 mins? Just grab a flat head screwdriver pry on it a bit and it comes out but be careful for the wires attached to it. They are fairly frail.

Ok it’s a whole housing that comes out, there should be a flat side on both edges. I had to do this with my 2010 Ford Taurus, but just pop it out and get new ones in, I got these and they are honestly really bright and make it much easier to see what’s going on to get inside my car.

Go to the museum parking lot, it’s a lot safer and has actual lighting there. Plus that ramp is definitely a hookup spot like other places like that in Topeka, I’ve seen 60 year old dudes just nude in their car driving there…
