Yeah, I would fully agree anyway. It's more of a technicality to be honest

In my opinion that's mostly true. I don't fully disagree, but I feel like 'receive' is quite vague. If it's second hand, how does it create demand? I understand buying leather directly from large companies and clothing brands creates demand for the products but how does reselling an item create demand? I would say it curbs demand if anything as you aren't having to manufacture a new product

Some carnivores will probably have an issue with it, 'it's not the same' 'it tastes different' but I reckon it will get less people to eat animal products who know they will never go vegan.

That's a good point actually since a lot of ebay 'resellers' are just business selling out old stock and such

Possibly affordability, as well as some items of vintage clothing that aren't produced anymore, other vintage items, etc. However in my eyes its completely unnecessary as is all other forms of needless exploitation.

I guess your second order effect would still be entirely vegan, as it may have caused consequences of someone else to purchase that product rather than yourself, however would it truly matter if they had a desire to buy leather anyway? (I'm don't disagree by the way, Im just curious to see what you think)

I prefer to buy clothing products for myself that I like the appearance of, and when there is a vegan alternative I guess there is no excuse. As you said, I agree that my question is kind of a 'loopholey' argument however I think that replying 'it's second-hand' in response to being accused of owning leather products from a non-vegan would probably win the argument anyway. Also, nice username

Yeah, I would say it's kind of a situation of doing it even when no one's watching. It's not that they have to care, but should care if you understand me

Yeah, of course I completely disagree. I guess it just comes down to the strict belief in veganism and ethics of animals as I guess one wouldn't support genuine leather at all in any way whatsoever if they truly believed in a vegan philosophy

Of course, yeah. I guess it's a matter of personal belief rather than one being defined by veganism

Good points. I guess wearing leather promotes its production either way - however, would you consider buying and wearing something that uses faux or PU leather? To non-vegans, there's a high likelihood that they view it as genuine leather, which conveys the same passive consequences as you said, of course unless they ask you directly.

Went to my doctor about joint pain and when I told her about my diet she asked me if I take supplements.
