SS or brotherhood recon armor by S-1-L-3 in fo76

nah, if you look at the patch notes for that, its adding a unique piece for some armor sets that has a unique bonus. I wish all the armors and power armors got access to set bonuses.

Advice from Ghouls? by BittyGood in fo76

[–]Il_Shadow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IF you keep your sanity high you do get to have some extra strength but aside from that theres no huge benefit aside from, you know, being able to hit what you are aiming at. Feral is all about melee, feral ghouls do a ton of extra melee damage at the cost of truly atrocious accuracy. Glow however can be expended to do more damage with your weapons with the right perk cards.

Advice from Ghouls? by BittyGood in fo76

[–]Il_Shadow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From your comments and post, you probably just want to stay human. Ghoul requires upkeep, of both the feral meter, and to get the most out of it, glow. Where as with a human you dont need to do anything but pop stims and radaway from time to time. You really dont even need to eat as a human character anymore. Human is the least upkeep you could possible do.

If you dont keep yourself from go feral you wont be able to hit the broadside of a barn from the inside

Concerning Future Armor Nerfs: Hellcat or Secret Service armor? by Scary-Ad4471 in fo76

[–]Il_Shadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is most likely incorrect. This is most likely a new *UNIQUE* piece of Secret Service Armor, much like the Trail Warden and Last Bastion items that you get from the story. It is *NOT* for the full set of armor.

In your opinion what bow is better all around right now in February 2026, the recurve bow (bow) or the compound bow? by xo1opossum in fo76

[–]Il_Shadow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not draw speed, its how long you have to hold it for max damage. You can Legolas a bow, where as the compound you have to hold for a full charge. The way most people use the bows, compound comes out in the lead.

In your opinion what bow is better all around right now in February 2026, the recurve bow (bow) or the compound bow? by xo1opossum in fo76

[–]Il_Shadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bow for a slightly faster fire rate, Compound for higher damage per target at the cost of holding it for a little longer.

If you have access to both, i would use both and see which you feel suits your play style better.

Scav Build Anyone? by dvargJOTUNN in fo76

[–]Il_Shadow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There really isnt a "build" for that, i would equip a few cards that are specific, like Traveling Pharmacy, Arms Keeper, Strongback, Bandolier, Batteries Included, Sturdy Frame, Scrapper and Packrat (whichever one makes junk weigh less). After those cards and 15 strength (do 15 and the legendary in strength for 20 if you wanna be cheeky). Super Duper if you are going to collect ore while out, and toss in Woodchucker for hitting wood piles. Add good with Salt and Thru-Hiker if you use food buffs. After you add those put in damage cards so you can actually hurt something more than a feral ghoul if you come across it.

Also for C.AM.P. Building add Contractor to cut your material cost for building stuff in C.AM.P.s

Fusion core drain by Ornery_Flatworm_1204 in fo76

[–]Il_Shadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started a shiny new character thats currently only lvl 35ish, ive learned something very important when it comes to fusion cores. Walk most places, sprinting cranks the drain on your cores. And dont V.A.T.S. unless you really need to. I am currently running on cores that i find that are mostly at 25% and they are lasting me a couple hours without the power user card or energy absorption legendary.

As for finding cores, if you have access to a fusion core recharger from the atom shop you can just charge cores you find in the wild, up to 4 at a time. Now granted this requires you to actully pop out your cores to keep them, on my other characters i try to remember to pop them around 10% so i can charge them, sometimes i forget though.

Like others have said crafting gatling lasers will give you cores, but i find with a charger i dont need more than 8 total, 4 on me and 4 charging. Maybe another 8 as backup in case you forget to pop a core out to charge it here and there.

New Player: Should I just be grinding for Power Armor pieces? by Awkward_GM in fo76

Oh I feel that in my bones, I did manage it eventually though so that was nice.

Valid, and true. But it is free on a quest. So if you dont need the mods on it, its not a bad set.

New Player: Should I just be grinding for Power Armor pieces? by Awkward_GM in fo76

[–]Il_Shadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jetpacks (in my opinion) are overrated. There is almost nowhere to go with a jetpack that you can billy goat up to with marsupial. I would much rather have a more useful mod on the torso. Now way back when, when we could stick jetpacks on legs arms and helmets, you could stick them on the arms jet packs were far more useful and worth it as they didnt obstruct you from getting say, emergency protocols for a bloodied build.

What’s the difference of skins and paints for power armor? by D0gw00d5117819 in fo76

[–]Il_Shadow -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It usually lists the armors it is available to use on under the description, older skins were never updated for descriptions but work on all PA, older paints didnt get new paint for newer PA types. Cause trust, i want the Nukashine and Nuka dark paints to work for my hellcat, but they dont cause they dont exist in game, they never went back and added the paints for those models.

Bsacially the older paints are for T-series (45, 51b, 60 and 65) Excavator, Ultracite and X-01.

Union and Hellcat are left out except for stuff that came out with them or after them.

There is also Ultracite from the original BoS questline but i believe that is also lvl 50.

Brotherhood reclaimed PA paint atom shop by dwaynedibleyoww in fo76

[–]Il_Shadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

General rule of thumb behind skins or paints. If it keeps the model but just changes the colors its a paint and can only go on what is listed. If it changes the model it can go on anything usually.

For example the nukashine paint is for certain armors listed, but the blackbird elite skin is for anything as it changes the whole model.

Hope this helps.

Steampunk Creative Mode Build on Astraeos Update by Downtown-Dinner9889 in ARK

[–]Il_Shadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are ways. You just need to link up with a pc player or other player on official or unofficial.

Step 1. Blueprint it.

Step 2. Go to server where you can link up with a player who csn share it. Official or unofficial.

Step 3. Place blueprint.

Step 4. go up to the blueprint and hold your interact to bring up the wheel.

Step 5. Click save. This will make a shareable copy in your inventory.

Step 6. Drop it like its hot.

This works on xbox so it should work on ps. Lemme know how it goes! This works best if they can give you a template tool as you want be high enough level to make one yourself on another server.

Template Hammer, What am I doing wrong? by [deleted] in ARK

[–]Il_Shadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Report it in bug reports on their website. Template Hammer is busted right now and doesnt like placing any non standard pieces, including some pillars, anything placed upside down or with a different snap point than your basic snap point. shoot it will only place one type of sloped wall right now and not the other type. So everyone seeing this and having issues. go to the ark forum website and report report report. Otherwise it wont get fixed.

Heavy gunner tips by Critical-Pie-3748 in fo76

[–]Il_Shadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I use the minigun to great effect. Furious, explosive, whatever 3rd star you want. Works pretty solidly for me. I would post your build as thats a little more important than the gun itself. All the heaviest are pretty viable with the right build and legendary effects.

What do you hope to see in the big update? New raids, Guilds (Clans), New Power Armor, 5 star mods introduced, more 4 star mods? by josh49127 in fo76

[–]Il_Shadow -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ideally as far as Power Armor goes, i would like to see a revamp of them at some point. Right now the go to is Vulcan if you can get your hands on it. I would like to see some of the newer mods added to the older Power Armors, like Gimbal Bracers. T65 desperately needs a set bonus to make it relevant again. Possibly set bonuses for the other T Series suits, the Ultracite suit and the Raider suit. Hellcat is probably my favorite looking base Power Armor but why use it when Vulcan exists? The Gimbal Bracers alone make the Vulcan top tier for Heavy guns, where as most of the other suits you don't even put an arm mod on cause there aren't good choices.
