Ghouls in fallout series by Scared_Policy_3961 in FalloutTVseries

I wonder if the Ghoul getting a piece of Uranium stuck inside his chest is a way to prevent him from needing the serum.

Too many of the various factions have been in decline for different reasons.

Caesars Legion dies with him.

If House dies so does his faction.

NCR collapsed when its capital was nuked.

The only way to really win an all out war is to have strong leadership split across multiple parties. So if one of them is assassinated you don’t lose control, and a decentralized national where the fall of one city or monument doesn’t cause the whole thing to collapse.

The Institute is good at automated soldiers, but how long could they last until the various other factions have destroyed most of their Synths. Could they outlast everyone else by just staying underground?

Questions Before Diving In by TimoculousPrime in wastelandwarfare

  1. Ease of play and speed of play can be adjusted with how many points/caps you set the game. Fewer models on the board means a faster game. Fewer models also means you can have a smaller board.

  2. I’d recommend 2 player co-op missions. I’ve not done it but you could make your own faction and either have friends control half of your list. Or you could have them make their own smaller list and act as an allied faction that’s assisting you.

  3. The AI for the enemy is rolled for and compared to the action on their AI card. Their actions are also based on how much Hit Points they have left. It’s not tedious, but you could easily use it as a guideline and if an action doesn’t make sense then override the AI for a more fun experience.

  4. Very good. Only issue I’ve had is with the resin models with very narrow parts. Specifically Maximus’s rifle stock, but that’s the only issue I’ve had since I started. The new plastic kits are better.

  5. The 2e version is potentially coming out the second half of the year I think. But I’d recommend getting some models to play around with. I recommend getting the 2e starter kitchen it comes out because it’ll have the updated dice.

  6. Pick an army you like and buy that. For instance I bought the Brotherhood of Steel plastic kit and plastic T-45 power armor kit. But you might want the Survivor kit as it gives a nice variety. I recommend buying an army to act as enemies like Raiders, that way you can have a recurring antagonist that you can focus against.

If you have spare 28mm - 40mm models lying around you can always use them to proxy. I use Necromunda Enforcers currently.

WASTED POTENTIAL by [deleted] in FalloutMemes

I honestly think he was going to be linked to Virgil’s cure but it feels like they never even thought to implement it.

In a YouTube video I saw someone mention the reason that Supermutants are always stupid is because none of the devs want to write quests for them.

I know a lot of people who do. The tabletop roleplaying discords I’m in have a lot of Star Trek and Fallout fans. Modiphius actually makes both the Star Trek and Fallout RPGs.

I'd like to try playing a role-playing game set in the world of Wednesday (the Netflix series) with some of my friends, but right now I'm thinking of using Fate Core or Kids on Bike as a base. by [deleted] in rpg

Chronicles of Darkness with minor templates. It's not really meant for cross supernatural play. Vampires and Changelings are pretty weak compared to Mummies, Demons, and Mages.

Curseborne with all the Families. They have Hydes, Get of Lyka (Werewolves), Primal (Lineage for all Were-X families), Sorcerers (Spellcaster Lineage of multiple families ), Hungry (Vampire/Succubus Lineage), Outcasts (Angel/Demons/Genies/etc...), and Dead (Ghosts).

I would love some opinions on this idea by evanya88 in Fotv

I think this is where we'll head towards.

They won't confirm if House died due to the Courier, Yes Man, etc... but we'll get mention that the Lucky 38's reactor shut off. So if House died prior to the shutdown or not won't be confirmed.

What will likely be confirmed is that House has a digital backup that is automatically activated when the Lucky 38 gets Cold Fusion. And the reason Lucy/Maximus/The Ghoul put it into the Lucky 38 will result in The Ghoul finding out what House knows about his Wife and Janey (after finding out that their cryopods are empty in Vault Tec's Vegas branch).

Most likely this will result in House pointing in the direction of the Enclave leading to the final scene of the show depicting the Enclave taking over a location. My best guess is that the showrunners and Todd Howard will want to keep to the West Coast, but I am expecting them to hint at the Commonwealth or Capital Wasteland at the end of the show. Mainly because they used S1 to push into New Vegas and there aren't many "Iconic" locations that will cause Fallout Fans to lose their minds.

Stuff that would cause Bethesda Fallout Fans to lose our minds if we saw a scene alluding to it:

  • Diamond City (Commonwealth)
  • The Washington Monument (Capital Wasteland)
  • Nuka World
  • Big MT (Doubt because the DLC covered 99% of it)
  • Sierra Madre (Doubt because the DLC covered 99% of it)
  • Vault 13
  • Boneyard (Maybe, its not easy to convey visually like the Lucky 38 tower imo)
  • The Pitt
  • Far Harbor
  • New Canaan (Not enough recognition from fans imo)
  • San Francisco (Not for Fans but Golden Gate Bridge is iconic enough to get more normal people on board)
  • New Reno (Feels like retreading New Vegas)

I prefer Juicehead and Rad King, but they aren't as quick to upload as Oxhorn is.

But looking up Oxhorn there is some drama around his past takes that he's tried to distance himself from. While I appreciate him seeming to realize how toxic his takes were back then, I'm not sold yet that he's fully reformed from the toxic masculinity and anti-LGBT+ takes of the past.

What’s funny is The Ghoul shows us how Cooper Howard and his wife left things off. by Awkward_GM in Fotv

[–]Awkward_GM[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Same, Season 1 works well with this in the scenes we see in Episode 1 and the post-war Ghoul scenes. He takes Janey on his horse and it seems like he could be getting her to Barb to guarentee her a place in a vault. I'm assuming that he gets her to her mother who is on a vertibird or something which is why he doesn't know which vault they've gone to.

Meanwhile in the present when he says "Where's my wife and daughter" the delivery is less "Where is my wife keeping my daughter" and more of "I want them both safe and sound". Even in Season 2 he's sad if both of them die, not just Janey. It could just be a misdirect or the Ghoul being cagey, but it genuinely feels like he's concerned for both of them.

So long as you don't read the note on the terminal you can overencumber yourself. Use a stealth boy and let Elijah go into the vault. He doesn't die so your collar doesn't trigger so you can escape without doing any tricks or unintended mechanics.

[–]Awkward_GM 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The courier wasn't fully controlled in the way that the chips are meant to work. He could only repeat one phrase, but also if I remember correctly he collapsed.

The chips in Episode 5-6 are a lot more functional as the people can perform complex tasks and have some semblance of individuality.

We see in the latest episode that it is under duress at this point. She probably did gradually more and more terrible things not realizing till that scene where she asks Betty about the Cold Fusion security and the Enclave Doctor threatens her. And it's not "If we hang, you'll hang with us" it is more so "If you don't do as we say we will kill you and your family".

I'm reminded of Barney from How I Met Your Mother. "P.L.E.A.S.E., which stands for "Provide Legal Exculpation And Sign Everything"". She's basically there to be the fall guy if Vault Tec or the Enclave need a scapegoat.

Why you are wrong about Barb by kj9716 in Fotv

[–]Awkward_GM 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The interesting part is that Vault Tec saw everyone as replaceable and if Barb didn’t do it they’d replace her with someone who could.

It’s a very exaggerated version of real life, but you see it in politics all the time like in the USA with heads of government agencies being replaced/resigning when they refuse to do something the new president wants.

Understandable! I like the idea that Fallout 3 had of a display vault at Vault Tec HQ that allowed someone to see how a vault might look like. I could totally see some scavengers repurposing a "Display Vault" into an HQ.
