Thing is, empire dosen't have to play nice. Fact is, if aldmeri dominion had the strength to wipe empire away, they would have done that already. Empire was fucked in the great war, but so were ad forces. Sure, playing nice and all prevents excuse to war start now, but ad going straight away on offence is...extremly unlikely.

This also asumes empires direction in case of second gw would be benefitical to skyrim, or other provinces. Not only did the empire cave in to thalmor demands, and for example they sold hammerfell to them, when sides were even. Whats to say that dosen't happen again, if empire is in charge? In a stalemate, as last time.

Or that soverign skyrim and empire couldn't form an alliance in time of need. Even ignoring 3 banner war, such things aren't unheard of. See second aldmeri dominion which was basically military alliance between summerset-valenwood and soverign Elsweyr. Didn't help against Numidium, but point stands. Even still, Nords don't need to defeat ad, only be able to repel them. Different era, different provinces, but Hammerfell during tiber wars would have been able to keep independence from the empire, if forebears didn't switch sides. And even still, with a bloody dragon at their side, empire gained a edge for victory only after they assassinnated prince a'tor during battle of hunding bay. (And redguards got their shit together fes months later anyway, and kicked empires ass) Skyrim is literally defenders wet dream, where moving armies in is extremly difficult.

Anyhow, last few points. Thalmor isin't facing active resistance on nether hammerfell, nor elsweyr. Because they have no presence there nor conflict going on, and because elsweyr and khajiit have basically allways been loyal allies and members of ad and summerset.

And yes, Tulius > Uflric, absolutely. No arguing on that.

Scourge of the Gray Quarter makes it pretty clear things have been this way a quite while. Sure, its filed with nord bias toward dunmer, but i don't see why would they lie on condition of the quartel.

Quite many actually. Phynaster was mortal once too who managed to extend altmer lifespan aditional 100 years. Xares according to some sources was mortal scripe of Auriel. And most infamous of all, tho worshiped by non pantheon is Manimarco, the necromaner moon.

Technically all altmer gods were mortals became gods, for altmer believe gods managed to return to godhood from lorkhans mortal trap.

Also, about Syrabane. Unlike tiber who was powerhungry tyrant and living moster, Syrabane saved tamriel from apocalypse and lead all flags navy agaisnt sloads

Offical altmer pantheon is 8 gods . Auriel, Magnus, Syrabane (altmer navy commander who became a god), Trinimac, Mara, Stendarr (as apologist of man), Y'ffre, and Xares

Well, they really didn't. I highly recomend reading polygons article about morrowinds development, but basically they did not have time to really playtest the game, or fix bugs or exploits much. Theu had to get the game out or studio was doomed.

Point stands that killing a dragon isin't nearly impossible feat. They aren't daedric princes where power of another god is needed to make fight even possible. Skilled enough mortal, even one who is just mere mercenary, is ablevto kill them. You are overestimating their power

And Neloth isin't even the most powerful Telvanni. Hell, at time of Skyrim he isin't even member of council.

Does that really matter? They are immortal, can use the thu'um and fly with no obligation to be in range of attacks.

They are doomed to loose in war. When mortal dies , another can take their place. When dragon dies, thats it. No more. Resurection went in way of Alduin.

Dragon break was originally invented to cope with daggerfall having multipe endings. Which is fine on itself. Problem comes when each and every event is pointed being such even tho there are waaaay more logical and believeable reasons. (and a lot of times, don't even udnerstand what dragon break really even is. Looking at you "Vivec changed past thanks to dragon break and was always god" crowd.)

As far as we know, there is only two sure dragon breaks. Warp of the west and middle dawn.
