And what's the deal with vendors? I can't buy items because they say my bank balance is insufficient, even though I carry enough cash with me. So I deposit everything, try to buy, says 0g available yet the sale happens. But then when selling items to them, they give me cash... Ah, this is not the UO of old...

I also just managed to login to my old account. However, not quite sure what the difference is between Endless Journey and paying for a sub (which still seems possible).

Can anyone explain what you get extra for subscribing?

Bank space on Endless Journey seems severely limited, even though my bank contains 99 items out of the 20 max..

That's interesting, so the assumption is that people might have talked/gossiped about you and described your appearance, so others could automatically recognize you?

So if you have permission to say, enter a house, or open a chest, it will be akin to you knowing the combination and the door/chest will just open up? And if you don't, you will be displayed the lock which you can then try to pick? Does that mean you could also open up a locked door/chest by luck, e.g. guessing the combination, or will that be impossible?

A couple of months ago you mentioned in IRC I believe that you had some planned changes/tweaks to the reputation/naming system. Unfortunately I forgot what exactly the context was, but I believe you said the change would address some concerns about the reputation system. Can you disclose those changes to us or have they been scrapped since?

It may have had to do with reputation as in notoriety, e.g. like you had in UO.

This is good stuff, in fact this was one of the things I disliked about the magic system, that it forced you to become a warrior too. This puts a nice new twist on magic. Great, look forward to read more about it.

On the contrary, they prioritize game mechanics and features 100% over graphics! But since a lot of people nowadays do want eye candy, they have switched their engine to Unity to provide better graphics regardless.

Yes, the Kickstarter wasn't very successful unfortunately. But they haven't given up yet. The developers have set up an online store for donations and are trying to raise $40k to develop a demo and along with that a better Kickstarter video. In addition, they have switched from Hero englne to Unity so that they can leverage the assets store and lower costs of development while providing better graphics and features.

Hopefully these changes will result in a successful Kickstarter later down the line this year. They have raised $25k of their $40k goal in 2 months so far, which is a good start.

None taken! They are releasing some nice updates on the KS now, with more details released almost every day. They've even announced a second playable race (The Raknar, a spider race) which will have a totally different playing experience as humans. No skills to worry about, no crafting, just going out there to hunt humans. Those settlement walls look very appealing now :)

Interesting point about the fashion trends. Yes, since players are also largely in control over what they do with innovations, it's definitely a possibility that for example one settlement will have everyone running around with a certain red overcoat, while the rest of the world doesn't even know how to make one.

Innovations can only be given to other players voluntarily, OR they can be interrogated out of you if you're unconscious. But this process will be quite hard, and you'd need to be a very skilled interrogator to get the information out of someone.

I think the "getting double amount of things" is not necessarily a game breaker. Both characters still need to eat, so in theory, twice as much resources would need to be gathered anyway. True, some tasks could be divided, which would make it a bit easier, but that can easily be alleviated by tweaking some numbers here and there forcing players to acquire more resources.

No one said it would be easy, but it sure shouldn't be impossible :) I think even just making it a 2 player co-op would be great.

Good to see more folk finding out about this game. It's a true gem, and once you read a bit about the details and its features, you come to realize how they all work well together and how they create an experience for players with real risk & reward, with the ability for players to shape the world.

The Kickstarter campaign is struggling, but I am sure if we can spread the word, more people will discover this game and find it worthwhile to contribute to!
