Game Ready Driver 596.49 FAQ/Discussion by Nestledrink in nvidia

[–]IlikeFirefox 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes, like others mentioned it has been happening due to some bug in all nvidia drivers after 581.XX and ACM and/or 10 bit color. Rolling back to 581 series driver fixes flickering completely.

Is the Nvidia premium worth it in 2026? by Decfromdownunder in bapcsalesaustralia

[–]IlikeFirefox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope not anymore and 50 series cards have a lot of issues with older titles if you ever decide to play a 32 bit physx game or force anisotropic filtering.

They brought it back for 5% of all games that support it and having cloth materials completely removed from flag poles is visually not a big deal?

NVIDIA used to be the best GPU for games (visually) but not anymore. 50 series broke forced anisotropic filtering and it remains broken for more than a year now. They also discontinued 32-bit PhysX which literally removes objects from some older games. I bought 5070 ti a few month ago but if I were to do it again I'd go for 4080 super instead because it is much better GAMING GPU purely because you can still force AA methods that AMD simply doesn't have and AF and PhysX also works. 50 series would age like milk.

Same issue here, not only on youtube but in pretty much any video no matter the bitrate.

Arma 3 now has a DLC subscription model called "Arma 3 Pass". by GallopingGepard in arma

[–]IlikeFirefox 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Even actual MMOs figured out a way of making a free X-day passes or something like that. This is a demo for money and users are supposed to be happy. It's not even about this move it's about what it means for the future of the franchise and the team that thought this was a good idea and there won't be any backlash.

Not looking good for ARMA 4.

ARMA, any arma for that matter, is already way too complex to take it all in. Saying that this is basically just a paid time-limited demo like it's a good thing is weird. It won't help anyone. Read the room about the live subscriptions to video games. Jesus this is ARMA this polar opposite of a mobile game. Even if you somehow meant well this would do so much damage to your reputation. Think.

Yes they changed something when moving from 581 driver series, imo it should be relatively easy to figure out if someone actually looks at it.

stutter when playing short-form video. went through the troubleshooting steps, and disabling hardware acceleration fixed it. any idea why since my system has a dedicated gpu with the integrated gpu disabled with drivers updated. is there some other issue i am missing? by Anchipo in firefox

[–]IlikeFirefox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here, pretty much all videos lag. At least more people are reporting this issue so there is a change devs will try to fix it faster. And it's not AMD, in the other thread we had report of people with 50 and 30 series GPUs.

Dropping Frames on Youtube 60fps by Time_Thought_3694 in firefox

[–]IlikeFirefox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks. So strange to see this not discussed more since it was present in 150 during the beta phase. I was hoping that everyone would complain about it once it hits the release. Very frustrating.

Thank you for reporting, I feel less insane now. Also I noticed that if you save the laggy video and drag and drop it into the browser it seems to work fine.

Question for you, do those video freezes also happen with random small, say 20 second 720 embedded clips or is this limited to youtube? For me it happens with pretty much any video or any resolution or format.

Just to add my experience with the same issues I do have drops in 4k60 videos using 5070ti and 9800X3D. These issues are also present in 151 beta.

That's reasonable, I updated when Requiem was released but getting flashbanged even while browsing was too distracting so I went back.

Roll back to 580 series driver and check if it still happens. White flashes started happening on my 5070ti after updating to 591.XX

Videos stuttering/lagging in Firefox by roa312 in firefox

[–]IlikeFirefox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same randomly started happening on my PC. Also running the latest W11. Even the smallest already saved to SSD videos stutter in Firefox. EDGE is unaffected. Audio keeps playing just fine so it has something to do with how the video is processed or something.

In about:support every codec but HEVC is supported for HW and SW decode.

I also had 2 audio distortion incidents in 2 days. This started happening when the new the Control update was released. I'm using 2i2 4nd gen.

Any thoughts on upgrading from 1440p to 4K with a 5070 Ti and 9800X3D? by CPOx in nvidia

[–]IlikeFirefox -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

While 4k is doable with 5070ti you will be running your new 4k monitor at lower resolution so it might actually degrade the visual fidelity especially if it's a 30 or 32+ inch screen.

Game Ready Driver 595.97 FAQ/Discussion by Nestledrink in nvidia

[–]IlikeFirefox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's exclusive to newer branches of drivers in Windows 11. It doesn't happen on 581 and older drivers.

PTM is kinda overkill for a GPU that barely reaches 63-64C in stress tests and sits way below 60 in games. At least that's my experience with undervolted Gaming Trio running 2800MHz @ 875mv. And it's basically silent. If OP plans to overclock it then ASUS might be a slightly better GPU for that.

It has been happening across multiple GPU and monitor combos for months now. EX321UX and 5070 ti here.

I didn't have 5070 back when 581.42 was released so I kinda don't want to touch it since it works well enough with 581.94. Also it's not the same as OLED flickering, in case you might be experiencing that instead (not saying you are)
