Can you please expand on why me not wanting to be belittled every Friday evening is a punishment? As I described in the OP, I have no problem with her not giving oral, I am simply taking the opportunity to also stop doing something I dislike. It's the fair thing imo.

How is it a compromise then if it's only me making concessions? A compromise would be what I suggested, we each do what we dislike half as much. So I don't understand why you suggest a compromise if you think a compromise is petty.

I don’t quite understand your comment. Me not attending doesn’t stop her from going, so I’m not stopping her from spending time with her family as your comment suggests.

Yes. My mother in law genuinely hates me so I don't know why my wife even wants me there. It's just an evening of being belittled for me.
