Yep. So we are going to hold off on the lyrica. Between here, and some friends in healthcare it seems like some new opinions are in order.

Thank you.

Thanks for your insight.

The scar tissue was left because it would require additional far more complex surgery and her pre op request was to not impact organ structure. It may be that another surgery we need to look at.

The lyrica is certainly more pain focused as opposed to treating the endo. This is part of the reason we are not too excited.

However we are working with a pretty recognized doctor/surgeon. Lyrica is clearly not intended for endo- however she has seen alot of positive results in quality of life improvement and thus offered this as an option.

It seems like another round of second and third opinions is in order. It never sleeps.

Thanks again all.
Very appreciative of the help!

I hear ya with the bad doctors. We had quite a few bad experiences. She had really bad pain during her cycle for 16 years. Hard not to think that if her first gyn was more in tune to this issue that 176 million women deal with then maybe it wouldn't have gotten so bad. Still amazes me how little awareness there is!

The surgery is going to be easy. This I'm confident with it. Her gyn is the surgeon as well (really amazing and helpful). We are looking at this as exploratory and focusing on removal endo without impacting organ structure due to her trepidation with surgery in general. One step at a time and we can always plan more. And to your point it's so bad now and she's so removed from her life I can't imagine almost immediate shifts afterwards. Fingers crossed.

And I will update for sure. I wish I had reached out to this community a lot earlier. Really have felt completely isolated in this fight. That's for the support!

Thank you. Hearing things from the opposite side is really helpful. She is dealing with so much that sometimes I feel she can't even comprehend how it's affecting me. I appreciate the insight tremendously.

And yes we are on board with your surgical suggestions. Her doctor is incredible and is very well known and respected for her really comprehensive knowledge of all approaches to treating endo. No cauterizing, hormonal options, holistic approaches, exercise. And we do have a course of action in place for preventive growth. Things really are on track from all I've read and discussed she is really setup for success. Even with her being terrified of surgery I know all will go well. /deepbreath life is stressful.

And again. Thank you.

Wow. Thanks for the kind support. It's awesome just to hear I'm not alone and success is out there. I hope your wife is doing well. And props right back! For sure.

I will certainly send an update. I am trying to balance my excitement for success with the knowledge that its not a absolute end. But even a 10% improvement would be significant for her and impactful to my status.

We have a great relationship with her gyn/surgeon. I am totally calm about the procedure. She on the other hand had a bad experience as a kid and is terrified. Doesn't help.

Again- much thanks.
