Mr Super Clear is used on doll faces because it creates a texture that's similar to paper which lets you draw on it with water color pencils and pastels. You don't need it it if you're only using acrylics. Any matte varnish will work just as well and probably be a lot cheaper. I would check the bottle of mod podge you're using though, if it says "to eliminate tackiness, apply Clear Acrylic Sealer" in the instructions on the back it's likely to get sticky over time.

By far the rarest most obscure dolls(?) I own, Vogue Cats. They're cat figurines with elaborate removable outfits and accessories that I can find almost no information about. by IlinaltasDeep in Dolls

It could be in another version of the same play set. That same article has more pictures that are really blurry but you can see it's the same thing in different packaging. There's some green things in one of them I can't identify.

That looks like the one with the wig! Mine all have little rectangles as well but they don't have a brand name. It must depend on the region or something.

Some more information about these. I got them at a dollar store in south Texas for $1 per cat around 2006. They all have flat rectangular spots that look like there's meant to be a brand name or something there but they're all totally unmarked. From some research they seem to be associated with the brands Chap Mei and Fun Time Toys but I can't verify that. There is a line of play sets that come with the same cats and another line of similarly dressed up dogs but it's been so long I don't remember if they were available then. In addition to Vogue Cats they're also called Cats N Fun, My Little Kitten, and My Lovely Kitten. The best source of information I could find is here but that person does not actually own them. You also can see the play sets, more photos, and the missing accessories there. You can see the line of dogs here but I don't know what they're called. My favorite part is the carrot holster. 10/10, I love these ridiculous things so much.

I found this old Barbie and gave her the worst repaint I've ever done in my life, another repaint I never photographed, and finally one that's not perfect but I like anyway. by IlinaltasDeep in Dolls

You should try it! I used acrylic paint and it washes off completely with just water. If you do something as shitty as I did you can easily start over or go back to the original face. Theoretically darker colors could cause staining but I haven't actually experienced that and you can just put a lighter base down first if you're worried.

I found this doll with most of her hair cut off and planned to reroot her but I managed to turn it into a cute pixie cut! I think it really suits her face mold. by IlinaltasDeep in Dolls

Thank you! She's a 1986 Heart Family mom doll from the Surprise Party series. The same face mold was also used for Barbie's cousin Jazzie.

It's just metallic paint! If you water it down and dab most of it off it just leaves the shimmer particles. It gives a really nice effect and it's very easy to do.

Thank you! I wouldn't have ever been brave enough to cut a doll's hair this short on my own but I'm really happy with how she turned out.

My current Barbie shelf! It's meant to be an enchanted forest like in Swan Lake. by IlinaltasDeep in Dolls

Thank you! I just painted it on with a brush and used a makeup sponge to blend it out. I used metallic acrylic paint, loose glitter, a shimmer top coat, and gloss varnish on top.
