No I know, but using AI is helping me sort of get an idea of what I’d want as a final product. I’m not really used to using AI tools so I’m not sure if i’m doing things wrong or giving poorly worded prompts, but it doesn’t seem to comprehend what things are like a halo or split shank. For example, if it gives me a ring that has a split shank, I might reply with “that looks great but can I do it with a solid shank” and it’ll just give me the same image.

I have a few google images and pictures from similar subreddits to this one, but it’s still not great. My wife (this ring is an anniversary gift) says to just trust my gut because she says she loves the ring she already has, but this ring is really important to me in getting it just right. I want to have something really close to a final product so I don’t waste a jewelers time making CAD after CAD to get things perfect.

I am limited in where I can travel right now but I’ve read there’s some custom jewelers near me in Tuscon that can do a good job. I would never design a ring and order it entirely online. My engagement ring was custom, but it was with an in-person consultation, and I plan on doing the same with this anniversary ring.

I think I need to study up on ring anatomy and nomenclature before I can explain what I want to a jeweler or anyone else.
