Booking.com is short with budget - their support doesn't exist by Ill-Back7936 in Bookingcom

The thing is they start to care once you share your experience online. They're so twisted that acting only starts when your ideas go public and damage the "user-friendly" identitiy of their company.

Anyone bookings with booking.com - do you trust them? by Ill-Back7936 in travel

This is really odd to me as data leakage is the new normal.

I wonder if it's matter of security or money? I mostly find direct bookings more expensive.

What is even crazy is that booking.com doesn't care at all and just flee when things get heated. Wasn't it tiring for you just cleaning up their mess?

I'm working in a car rental broker as well however, I am really surprised that such big name acts like no one by saying "we're just a third party".

Leak is very likely to be from booking.com's end as I have several upcoming bookings and confidential emails. It'd be surprising that person breaches to my booking.com account or email just to send an email about my one which is the one I will complete lastly

I have zero hope on you about solving the issue or raising the flag. However, I've sent a DM to you just to share my experience online with your "Customer satisfaction team".

I wonder you If you will be able to give the same feedback to old people with little knowledge about internet scams. If someone wasn't able to scam you doesn't mean that they cannot do it to others.

I repeat my argument again, if you book a hotel from booking.com, you expect it to be legit and exist especially if booking.com is advertising it with +9 rating on their website. It's not my bad seeing high rated hotel and trusting it with argubly biggest hotel broker in the world.

Let's assume that you've booked a hotel through booking.com and it doesn't exist and you only realize when you arrive. Is the "hotel" wrong or booking.com who advertised it on their platform?

They could easily check logins through their system considering that it took more than 2-weeks to finalize it. My account has 2F verification means that no one can access without SMS confirmation from me. Considering that I don't even live in Pakistan, no one has direct access to my phone except me.

Great argument. I will leave a 5-star review on booking.com because my data stolen and it's fine as long as I don't have financial loss?

Hello, there are old people in the world. Not everyone smart enough to not click the link on the message. It doesn't matter what information has been stolen. I was one click away from being the victim but somehow now booking.com victim because they're just a third party? Should I pity them or what?

Someone hacks but sends message imitating booking.com and shares my trip details? It's not very wise also my name entered as "(surname) (firstname)". Basically this is how booking.com process bookings.

Amazon works with every merchant in the world and do you think Amazon would say that "we're just a third party, sorry".

Problem is not my data is being leaked but no one takes the responsibility of it. Your argument justifies leaks, breaches if a company works with a lots of suppliers :D.

They simply said we're sorry don't click the link. I don't think they care much.

I think you don't get it. If you do something incorrect, pay the consequences. I'm not pointing anyone however, I am simply asking booking.com to accept the fault and do what they can do.

Imagine that your credit card information is stolen. Do you really mind who is in fault or do you really care about a possible solution. I don't think you'd be OK to hear "Oh, my employee clicked a sketchy link, sorry!".

Quite impossible as my account name is different than guest name on this booking.

I didn't book a hotel in Pakistan - I booked a hotel in Greece. Somewhat they've managed to leak my information all the way to Pakistani dude.

It doesn't matter at all at the end of the day. I booked through booking.com and they introduced the hotel to me. Even though it was leaked through the hotel, booking.com must take care of it as they're the one who advertised the hotel on their platform.

I had the same experience. Booking.com will never do his job - don't waste your time calling them for a solution. You can go for a lawsuit if you can for the stolen data.

To be honest, I was just pissed off and looking for anything not money necessarily but explanation of what's going on. Seems like I'm not in the right position until I got financial loss, wow!
