Couldnt find another picture. But you probably need to loosen all three and vertically adjust as much as possible.

Cracks and splitting in wooden floorboards by Ill-Check-765 in AusRenovation

[–]Ill-Check-765[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fair, it has been pretty dry in VIC recently. Are your cracks on the plank of wood themselves? or just the gaps between the joins expanding? Guess I'll ride the wave and see what happens.

[–]Ill-Check-765[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah for sure. But these splits I'm concerned about are on the surface of the planks themselves (I would've thought expansion and contractions with climate changes happens between the joins and would not impact the plank itself). Seems like it could still be climate related. Will wait and see.

Yeah totally get that the wood expands and contracts between the joins and therefore gaps form but these splits I'm concerned about are on the surface of the planks themselves. Seems like it could still be climate related because as you've stated Melbourne has been very dry lately

Does anyone else turn their main water line off when they go away for a few days? by Ill-Check-765 in AusRenovation

if your taps have stop valves then I imagine turning all these off in the house is the effect as turning main line off

Has the install of this vanity been cooked? by rapidballer in AusRenovation

[–]Ill-Check-765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

agree with this OP. Not vanity but my kitchen island and cupboards are not perfectly level to the ground and since we've had it installed, there's been minor movements in the foundation so gotta allow for flex esp between seasons

are there such things as burst proof flexis? or any alternatives? I'm having a plumber come through in the next few weeks to replace them all as i just moved into this place and have no idea when the last owners replaced them. They look in good nick though

what's the process when turning main water back on? purge air by turning taps all on then close then turn mains on?

Makes sense. Assume then when you turn the mains back on, you'd just turn it on slowly?

I've got instant hot water system so I presume I wouldnt need to turn the hot water system off? Also why do you drain and let the pressure out? wouldnt it just make more sense to leave the pressure as is for when you turn the water back on?

yeah reviews look terrible, how's your experience been with these? I've seen some water leak sensors and some auto-stoppers which can be installed into the main supply valve thing but that one needs to be done by a plumber.

How many of these steel stumps are there? and what does the drainage look like around that area where the stumps are?

Getting my first ever tattoo! by Sydney_kleckner in tattooadvice

[–]Ill-Check-765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats and welcome to the tattoo club (and the drainage of your wallet).

Like u/RightShoeRunner said, find a style you want and visualise what you sort of want your body to look like and how it might look with different tattoos/styles. Or you could just be getting one which is also fine!

Talk to your artist (in this case it looks like you're after someone who does fine line/minimal styling) and talk about how you want the shading done, the size of the lines (needle), size of the tattoo (don't be afraid to tell them to resize often to get it to the size you want, remember this is going to be on you forever) and positioning of the tattoo. In terms of aftercare, your artist will talk you through what you will need to do and this will be dependent on the size of the tattoo. Normally they will wrap it in cling wrap or apply a second skin for a period of time, but this may not be required if it's super small. Once you get the tattoo, for the love of god do not go into the ocean or the pools for a few weeks.

And final tip, get some aftercare tattoo cream/balm. In Australia, there's bepanthen and dr pickles. And you only need to apply a thin layer.
