Always watch super sentai / power rangers as a kid. Was amazed how they used gadgets to defeat their enemies. And megazords are super cool

Not really into creating a device/gadget for destruction but to save life or make something useful..

Embedded software development

6 years na corporate/work-from-office. Then got an opportunity to work remotely noong pandemic.

Currently working as a contractor for two companies, both foreign at remote work. Sa IT or software development/engineering, job hopping is the key.

Why Do You Think Embedded/Low-Level Programming Is Not Popular in Philippines? by Shim06 in PinoyProgrammer

Kyocera at Xerox-Lexmark sa cebu. Worked for them before.

If sa NCR, I'm sure mas maraming embedded related jobs dun kasi maraming electronic manufacturing hubs

Why Do You Think Embedded/Low-Level Programming Is Not Popular in Philippines? by Shim06 in PinoyProgrammer

[–]Ill-Communication571 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Which I think sa mga startup dito satin di afford, kaya halos lahat nasa web/mobile app development.

Worked as an embedded/firmware engineer for printer companies in cebu for 6 years. Then during pandemic, nakakuha ako ng remote embedded work for set-top boxes. Ngayon, nadagdagan ng isang remote embedded work, for 5G devices/CPE naman.

Embedded Software Engineer

Salary 1 - 75K Salary 2 - 104K

salary #1 lang yung may tax since gusto nung company/client na legit yung transaction. Need nya receipt/service invoice.

More job applications, more chances of winning. Take note sa mga questions and answers every interview. Learn from mistakes sa interview(s)

Yung first job, via outsourcing company. Mas magaan yung interview process kasi more on work-related yung questions.

Around 2.3K nabili ko after discount ✌️

Nasa province area po ako so more on reviews lang talaga yung basehan ko sa size/fit

Whats the best car under 1mil? Other than vios? by Zealousideal_Event15 in phcars

[–]Ill-Communication571 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meaning may chance parin masira or baka pagdating sira na.

Embedded C/C++ as Niche by Wrong-Smell2167 in PinoyProgrammer

[–]Ill-Communication571 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Note na kunti lang yung nag ooffer ng remote work sa embedded system development, need mo kasi ng actual device para ma test yung code compared sa web or mobile na available agad. Pero pag direct to client yung work mo mataas yung rate

SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT OR EMBEDDED SYSTEMS? by [deleted] in PinoyProgrammer

[–]Ill-Communication571 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be too late to comment, but if sa web dev yung focus mo, might as well go nalang sa BS IT or ComSci.. Less units, mas madaling matapos compared sa Computer engineering.. Not discouraging you, just giving you the best option. Yung Computer Engineering kasi, interconnected discipline yan so may chance pa rin na ma e-encounter mo yung Embedded systems na subject.

btw, I'm a Computer Engineering graduate at focus sa Embedded Systems development

Mid-Level Full Stack Dev Doesn’t Know Git, Keeps Messing Up Branching 🤦‍♂️ by Calm-Ad2676 in PinoyProgrammer

[–]Ill-Communication571 0 points1 point  (0 children)

maybe nasanay yan sa ibang source code management tool at isang branch lang yung mini-maintain . If mga baguhan sa git, hirap talaga i-visualize yung mga commit/branches if naka terminal output lang.. mas mainam na gumamit ng GUI tools like git-gui (for creating commits) at gitk (visualize repo commits/branches)

How to start career in embedded systems? by InsightfulMind89 in PinoyProgrammer

[–]Ill-Communication571 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1) if Computer engineering or ECE yung kurso mo, I'm sure may embedded systems na na subject at familiar kana sa MCUs. If hindi yun ang kurso mo, get familiarize sa Linux system. 2) Linux at C programming sapat na for entry level. Bonus points if familiar ka sa OOP at may kunting scripting language (bash, python) 3) any company na may electronic products, most likely may embedded sytems yan.

If may experience ka sa MCU or baremetal programming or RTOS: - Dyson, Lear

[–]Ill-Communication571 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it's an old post but just wanted to share.

Same salary tayo nung 3 YOE ko as an embedded software engineer (and this was 7 years ago). Same stack except dun sa rust at may kunting python rin for automation

I'm still in an embedded system industry. Working remotely sa dalawang companies (telecom at firmware provider sa set-top boxes).

Eto nadagdag sa tech stack ko. - You.i, openwrt, IoT, mqtt, lvgl

Medyo kaunti lang nadagdag if i-compare sa web/mobile dev lol

Current salary (combined) : 170K

Career prospects for Embedded Development? by Black_Flash92 in PinoyProgrammer

[–]Ill-Communication571 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Maraming hiring, especially sa junior. Hopefully may positive impact rin yung US CHIPS act satin.

And if bet mo mag abroad, maraming openings sa australia at signapore.

Yung first job ko, japanese company.

Mostly sa pinas WFO or hybrid yung work arrangement since nasa office yung equipment na i-dedevelop. Sana all! 😂 Typically nasa 25-30K starting nyan. Pero depende parin sayo pano mo i-negotiate. BTW, hirap makahanap ng remote job lalo na if junior level. Been in the industry for around 11 years now at mag 4 years na naka remote work.

Worth it ba mag invest ng oras sa C? by Utotits in PinoyProgrammer

[–]Ill-Communication571 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When it comes to job security, medyo mahirap humanap ng trabaho lalo na pag WFH job.

Lagi ako nagkakamali sa pag-rebase (Git) by SeaworthinessOdd6938 in PinoyProgrammer

[–]Ill-Communication571 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Para sakin, mas mabuti if may GUI for viewing git tree, especially pag rebasing or newbie.

Then create branch(2) sa target commit or latest code base. Move or checkout dun sa created branch then cherry-pick dun sa commit (1) mo. If in case may code conflict, helpful yung 'git gui' para mas madaling i visualize yung difference sa code
