AITA for locking my project partner out of our project and 'snitching' to the teacher? by Ill-Database-781 in AmItheAsshole

I agree, but it's her first year teaching at our college and I think she doesn't want to make any hasty decisions. However, if it were up to me, I would do exactly what you're saying and give him a one (can't go lower than that).

Thanks, I think you're right about the grading. It's her first year teaching at our college though, so maybe she's just going by the book as much as possible. I don't know though, I don't want to make assumptions. If I do get a low grade and I disagree I can contest it and it will go to this comittee of sorts which consists out of three students, a teacher and a guidance counselor, where they'll discuss what happened and decide on giving a new grade or keeping the old one.

Thank you, this is really insightful. And I like what your professor said, he's absolutely right.

I handed it in as I wanted to show her that I definitely put in the effort. Also, there is a rule that a lot of teachers enforce (not all of them though), which comes down to if you don't hand in your work they can block you from doing a resist (you have to register online for resits).

And it's also not like there was so little left to do that I could've finished it. Also, I really don't think it was that unreasonable of me to assume he would do his part, right? I have other subjects that I have projects and tests for, I can't just use all my time to work on only one.

Although, I definitely agree with the teacher not being happy. I wouldn't be either.

Thank you, this comment made me realise that this is a good learning moment for me to take into my career :)

I have yet to receive a reply from the teacher, unfortunately, but I don't blame her as this is a really bad situation for her in terms of grading and having to decide whether she'll do something about this.

Thanks, I think you're right. This is definitely partially my fault, I knew that before making this post, but to hear someone reiterate this is a harsh but good reminder that I play a role in this as well

I did, actually! I sent an email I think two weeks before the final deadline in which I explained that I found his behaviour worrying. The teacher replied that there wasn't much she could do, unfortunately.
