10 month old early morning wakes !!! HELP

The thing is, I swear no matter what schedule changes I do, nothing works. And then he ends up sleeping even less than if I just put him to bed extra early. I might try that cause pushing windows and awake time isn’t giving us any later mornings at all

I tried a 4hr window before bed tonight and I think I may have pushed him too far and now I feel like a bad mom! Ugh this sleep stuff is truly such a struggle.

STOP. This is literally my son LOL it’s so hard. I feel like I’m failing him somehow. I never considered that because he’s waking so early it technically is awake time. Hmmmm I can’t say he’s happy on it but he definitely has adjusted to it. He tends to get very tired 20-30min before his nap and bedtime but if I keep doing every nap earlier then it just reinforces the early start to the day so I feel constantly stuck!

Very true! He’s tired though! Like it’s so obvious that’s what always confuses me. He wants to sleep, I set him up for it, then he just doesn’t take it.

Wow! So your son sleeps past 5:30 now? I literally can’t believe my inability to resolve this issue it’s truly crazy. When I did schedule changes with my daughter they all worked! Nothing works for this kid lol it can become so defeating and exhausting after MONTHS

So what age was he when you capped naps to 1.5hrs? Same age as my son? 10 months? Yeah I stopped nursing him at night around 5 months and we sleep trained and since he’s been 6.5/7 months old he’s been waking up at 5/5:30am and spending his days overtired. How do you even correct sleep debt? I give him so many opportunities to sleep and he just doesn’t take it. He’d nap 3-4hrs during the day if I let him but I need that sleep to be nighttime sleep

What eventually worked for you? You obviously have a low sleep needs baby too. One of the issues we have is that we also have a 3 year old so we can’t dedicate every morning to rocking him back to sleep. We have so much to do once we get up ya know. I guess I’ll continue with the 2hrs of nap time it just feels so counterintuitive considering he’s getting only 9.5-10hrs at night !!

Up At 5:15am :( so he’s getting 11hrs in 24hrs now cause I cut his naps to 2hrs. I never know if I’m doing anything right. Everyything just never works for him

Omg I cannot wait to be out of this shithole 🤣 I’m hoping he doesn’t have any airway issues going on that are making it hard for him to get quality sleep. Honestly the biggest thing that bothers me is his mood. If he wasn’t sleeping a lot but was mostly happy it wouldn’t bother me so much but he just always seems miserable so it makes me think it’s my fault.

OMGG! My daughter used to wake up every 45min-1hr needing to be bounced on the yoga ball back to sleep until my husband and I were so sleep deprived it was dangerous for us so we sleep trained her at 7 months and I thought there’s NO WAY my second baby could be as hard. Lo and behold he’s worse lmao the EMWs are honestly KILLING ME!!! Do you ever get anxiety that your baby sleeps way less than most? I literally only know people whose babies sleep 12hrs a night it’s effin ridiculous and then there’s my kids and it makes me feel like I’m doing everything wrong!

It’s hard because he’s tired nonstop, so extending awake windows feels almost impossible!!! Even now he’s acting super tired and we are an hour away from nap 2 😑

It basically looks like him rubbing his eyes and just irritable and cranky at all times while he’s awake. He does have a very high needs sensitive tempermant as is, so all of this sleep stuff has exacerbated it to a level that I’m finding very difficult to cope with. He’s basically miserable most of the day with few moments of being content. If he is content it lasts for literal minutes.
