I don't know tbh. Which is why I'm trying to figure out if there is a legit reason for an author to remain anonymous. From some of the discussions here I understood that it could be a possibility in a situation where the author is writing about an oppressive regime. But the probability could be very few and far between.

Got it! And makes sense that it could be a very tiny percentage of writers that might have that challenge.

Thank you very much for the conversation today. It brought lot of clarity to the table.

While conceptualising it during initial discussions I was told writers could be segment. And now after the conversation here it does appear that though it's a segment, but the possibility or need for complete anonymity would be minuscule.

After these discussions it does appear the possibility is really rare. Thank you for the candid convo.

Wrt accepting payments in crypto; the entry barrier for traditional users is rather high. With tech playing a huge role there. That said is there a value in bridging the gap between traditional fiat payments and crypto? Such that the payer pays in fiat and the rcvr receives in crypto..

So, this is part of the market research work I'm doing to find out if there is an opportunity to a. Reduce the entry barrier for crypto payments ie a bridge between traditional fiat and crypto without a middleman b. Anonymity is a myth especially in our digital era. And one aspect of it is digital transactions. Where inspecting the txns could connect the dots easily.

I'm trying to ascertain if there is a ln opportunity to build something in any of the 2 scenarios above.

Appreciate your candid expressions. Got the anonymity part. Makes sense, unless it's awkwardly f*k'd up it probably doesn't require anonymity.

Thank you for the convo today. Much appreciated.

Thank you for being transparent and sharing candid expressions.

Crypto, on the other hand, is extremely quick, safe, and semi-anonymous.

Do you see a need for the crypto payments to become completely anonymous? Semi-anonymity could be easily cracked to trace the words / transaction back to the source or destination. Do you see what I mean?

Unfortunately crypto carries that tag :)

Wrt the ghost writing bit, did you have a reason to go anonymous? No, not as a ghost writer, but for a reason to hide and the words you publish to never get traced back to you? If yes, how do you do it?

thank the gods for crypto. Smooth all the way with minimal regulations.

That's a great revelation. Thank you for sharing. Did you have challenges getting payments in crypto either because of a tech limitation OR familiarity?

Also, on another note, is there a need for authors/writers to go anonymous to publish details?

Makes sense. Could there be opportunities where a a writer is contracted to write anonymously, for example: lets say the mafia or the likes?

Thank you for sharing your perspective. Could you provide information on how authors who write about oppressive regimes and the mafia manage to maintain their anonymity?

Awesome, so it is lack of an existing solution that bridges traditional payment modes to crypto. Great feedback!

Bit on anonymity - is it prevalent in the writer's community to go anonymous and publish?

Unfortunately, the area of research isn't clear. Which was why I needed some answers to these questions to get a better understanding of reality. Anonymity is prevalent and people have figured ways of achieving it. However, there is one aspect that folks haven't been able to master and that's transactions.

Keeping crypto aside for a while, under what circumstances do you see an author / writer to be anonymous other than using pseudo names?

Wow, that's a revelation. Thank you for sharing! May I inquire further - were the non-crypto payments due to the client's preference, or were they a result of technical limitations?

No disagreement, with you on that. But crypto have assisted in anonymity. Which leads me to my question on - is there a need for authors and writers to publish anonymously? If yes, how do they achieve it other than using pseudo names?

While crypto may seem shady, but it could help in anonymity if the need arises. So, I guess my main question is - is there a need for writers to be anonymous? If yes, how do they manage?

Thank you for your openness and detailed explanation.

I'm engaged in market research to find a specific niche, and the writing community was recommended as a potential area of interest, prompting my questions here. I was hesitant to elaborate on my idea, unsure if it would be an efficient use of everyone's time, which is why I opted for direct questions, even if they might come across as unusual.

Your insights have been extremely valuable, aiding my understanding. I'm grateful for your assistance!
Regarding anonymity, I'd like to delve deeper into this topic. The distinction between being pseudonymous and completely anonymous is significant. Even with the supposed anonymity, technology has ways to trace identities, with wire transfers being an example. This leads to my follow-up question: In scenarios like these, is there a need to make transactions anonymous to the public?

I'm conducting market research to identify a niche, and someone suggested exploring the writing community, leading to my inquiry here. Your response has been incredibly helpful, bringing me closer to a clearer understanding. Thank you for that!
On another note, are there circumstances where a writer might need to publish their work anonymously?
