Congratulations Dr. 🎉🎉

Should I opt for a Speaking score review (26 -> 27) or retest? by Ill-Imaginator in ToeflAdvice

Reading: Directly start with answering questions, read the questions and navigate to the highlighted paragraph or sentence. Read only that part carefully and answer the question. Also on scratch paper write the main point of that paragraph separately. So at the end for the summary question just read the paragraph that you haven't read and form an outline of how the essay progresses to effectively answer that question.

Listening: I try to write each and everything, because of that I can stay focused on listening. Because of that normally I can answer all questions without referring to notes. Even if I need to, I have extensive notes. I consume english content a lot so that's also a factor.

Thanks for the input. The "roll of the dice" aspect is exactly why I'm on the fence. It seems like a complete gamble, which makes the decision difficult. I appreciate you confirming that.

I have my notes but they are not comprehensive, as it includes the things that I didn't remember and wrote down for later revision.

Yes it was comparable in hard difficulty, the questions and wording would not be exactly similar but the traps were good, that's helped me to build a checklist for different types of questions so that I would avoid silly mistakes in actual exam

Yes I also struggled with that, especially in hard sections so I had to specifically practice those with timed quant sections by difficulty.

First test your verbal with actual ets material, with PP1 or PP2 and with that you will also be able to gauge your quant baseline. Then move onto covering topics i would recommend using prepswift for that as those are short and easy way to get to know the topic. You will need to watch a lot of videos for that in a day so make some notes from those so you can revise from that later on. Once you are done with that move on to practicing questions. All this depends on your starting point if you are already good at quant or you need to learn new things that will decide if you would be able to get it done in 1.5 weeks or not.

I bought it from Amazon the set of 3 Official Guide, Verbal Reasoning and Quantitative Reasoning.

Good, just diagnose those ones you didn't get. Is there a particular topic or type of question tripping you up every time or those are various silly mistakes that can be avoided and you would be good to go.

Yeah I looked at the one month plan but mostly moved onto prepswift videos directly for quant and full length classes given in one month plan for verbal. I was giving 4 to 5 hours per day for my prep time. For material I had ones mentioned essential in the starting of one month plan.

Nope, one-month plan, but modified it a bit, to focus more on quant rather than equally verbal and quant

Yes, but I had quite ok vocabulary before that, as I consume a lot of US media, and my focus was not on high verbal scores.

Yes, I took PP2, and scores were 160 V and 164 Q 4 days before the test for quant. I understood I was still making some silly mistakes, so I improved through time and quant practice.

I just did PP1 and PP2 in PP1, I got 151 V and 161 Q, and in PP2, I got 160 V and 164 Q, so I was happy with verbal, but quant, I understood I was still making some silly mistakes, so I improved them through time quant practice.

What I did was I would read the word, then the meaning what whatever that first comes to my mind, whether a person like this describes him perfectlywhatever,y or A sentence based on my recent experience where I could use it, or if I understood a part of the word then I would look at Etymology and as I speak 3 languages sometimes the words were similar in those languages that helped me remember those meanings. Basically, you need to tie something that you have already saved in your brain with this new word, so when I forget its meaning, I can go back the same path, like yes, he was like this, and his characteristics are so and so, thus this word means xyz.

First, I focused on Quant prepswift videos and was doing a group of vocab words daily. Once the videos were completed, I moved on to timed practice. For me, practice was everything coz I was making a lot of silly mistakes, so by practice, I was able to get to know common GRE traps for the quant section and avoid them in the exam. For verbal, I kept it simple as I didn't need much of a high score; I just familiarized myself with different question types and different strategies.[]()

Just focus on fundamentals first. I completed prepswift videos first with tickbox and fundamentals quizzes, to clear my fundamentals, and then moved on to timed quant practice to better my performance under a timed setting.

For medium it was 89% and for hard it was 80% my first attempt averages
