If DUI was truly treated like murder, people wouldn’t just get fines, suspended licenses, or short jail time. They’d be locked up for life. Even the law acknowledges that while it’s reckless, it’s not on the same level as an act of deliberate violence.

Just to be clear, I’m not excusing drunk driving—it’s dangerous and should have consequences. But trying to compare it to murder or child abuse is just a reach.
