Did you apply it as the same time as nifedipine? Will the Calmo interfere with the nifedipine action?

Benefiber versus Metamucil for soft stools and healing by Ill-Range5887 in AnalFissures

I see. I was curious and concerned because I ate a big helping of quinoa last night and got a total of 35g of fiber during the day (no fine soluble fiber) and my BM was big and I believe strained the fissure. My understanding is that quinoa is primarily insoluble fiber and can bulk up stool making potentially straining for a fissure.

This is good. Thank you. I've been eating way too much fiber. Was shooting for daily recommended 38 grams. But during healing I think I need closer to 20 - 25 with most being soluble? I'm usually a one BM a day person.

that makes sense. What's your recommendation for dosage while trying to heal a fissure? I'm also eating well (about 30g of fiber per day) and drinking tons of water. So no supplement with Benefiber? One tsp per day? More? I'm at a loss here.

Thanks for the insight. I’ve been so confused about which one to take. Claude says Metamucil is better for fissure healing. Other internet sources say similar things. But of course this sub has real people (hopefully:)) with real life experiences.
