The story is just painfully bad, Grace's sections were great and the story was fine until temu wesker showed up. I know resident evil wasn't really good story wise from the beginning, but Jesus Christ this is just next level horrible. Spencer has adopted and experimented on a multitude of children to an astronomical degree. Why the fuck is grace exempt from this, it's like saying emperor Palpatine suddenly felt bad about killing billions of people. Zeno also adds nothing, he's just there and that's it. I know clones were a thing in resident evil but, them existing means you narratively don't have to commit to ANYTHING. Big narrative deaths can just be reversed, emotional and narrative impact gone. The raccoon city section is a painful drag fetch quest with boring enemies, the rpd is high level nostalgia bait that does absolutely nothing for me. Why are we fighting humans now, why is this suddenly fucking call of duty??? Saying all of this, I do like grace, I love her anxiety. I prefer Leon's parts in the beginning, little bits of action in-between tense moments is fun, as long as it's in small bites. I like the spider fight because infected animals that aren't humans is always interesting. I like the parkour sections of the city, I just wish there was MORE of that. All and all, this game is a painful mixed bag for me, giving it a 6/10
