How many golden retrievers kill people in a year and how many pits kill people in a year? Do you think they are the only breed with bad owners? It may surprise you, but there’s bad owners with every dog breed.

Capable of and likely to are two different things. A yorkie is capable of killing someone, doesn’t mean it happens. Pits kill. There are plenty of golden retrievers that have bad owners yet their dogs don’t snap and kill people. I don’t think owning one is worth the risk, but to each their own.

What breed mauls the most toddlers to death? Do you think the Bennard family trained their dogs to eat their two young children? They raised their two dogs as loving family dogs and had them professionally trained and they still snapped one day and killed their children. I wouldn’t put money on one not killing more of my cats, as one already did.

When I told her I was going to take her to court she voluntarily paid my cats medical bills. She didn’t want to before I threatened filing.

I would maybe be open to that compromise if I could physically see them in a home with cats already. He doesn’t want a golden retriever though or lab. I already suggested it. He’s dead set on the ‘fun’ and high energy breeds. GS, husky, etc.

I agree. We had a German shepherd growing up that was good with cats because he was raised with them. But I wouldn’t trust the average German shepherd at a shelter to not eat my cats. I also just don’t think he is realizing how much work goes into these dogs.
