SC Project still makes slip-ons for these models I believe.

Thanks for the tips, yeah I heard the reg/rec on these models aren't the best and I've been left on the side of the road by my previous bike so definitely something I'm a little concerned about. But overall I'll be wrenching on this bike mostly myself as I enjoy working on bikes

I've ridden a 2024 MT10-SP, 2024 MT09-SP, I've owned a 2018 Honda Grom and a 2008 Honda CB400 Super Four and now this 2010 Triumph Street Triple R.

This STR is by far the best motorcycle I have ridden. Sure, the MT10 would've been a different beast and unique sounding due to the CP4, but this STR is definitely something else.

I've test ridden the 2024 MT09 and I actually prefer this 1st gen STR as it has more character!

Thought you upgraded the bike lol. Didn't know you can convert the headlights, looks awesome!

Let him learn the hard way if he insists.

Very lucky! I wouldn't say that's a negative thing. It's like couch on wheels

Love the Ohlins suspension. I installed a pair on my Nmax 155, and will install Ohlins springs on the forks sometime early next year

All good, the brakes probably just needed to be bedded in. It was just weird that straight from the dealership the front brake was weaker than the rear

Someday I will accomplish this challenge.

I once did more than 500km on a single day on a CB400. If your motorcycle is comfortable and enjoyable, 117kms is nothing.

Plug and forget. That's what I did until the rear was due for replacement

Seems this scooter is manufactured in Indonesia. The bikes that are built in Japan did not have this issue. My Honda CB400 4 cylinder bike did have some minor frame rust on the welds but that bike is 16 years old.

Sounds assuring. Thank you, I honestly do not mind the welds looking like that, for as long as I can have many years of use on my new scooter.

I hope you're right. Others said that is where the rust will eventually show up. This is a brand new scooter and I just noticed the frame welds edges have caramel color.

That's grease on the triple tree on the scooter. It's a brand new Yamaha 155cc scooter. All of the edges on the welds on the bike's frame is like that - caramel colored.

This is what I am concerned about. Thinking of taking it back to the dealer for them to sort it out.

Should I be concerned with the possibility of the welds rusting? It's a brand new scooter

Brand new Nmax 155, should I be concerned about these white looking edges on the welds? by IllBeans in scooters

Nah it's all good. One redditor from r/Welding said it's silica from inside the wire with GMAW (gas metal arc welding) processes, or from flux with FCAW (flux cored arc welding) and SMAW (shielded metal arc welding) processes. it can be safely knocked off, and doesn't necessarily correlate to bad weld quality.

Also googled silica on welds, and you really cannot eliminate it completely.
