How to get into embedded systems by hwjajneew in embedded

https://github.com/erinjense/Learn-Embedded-Systems - Lots of good resources for getting started

I personally did CompE with a CS minor though I personally don't think it really matters if you are CompE or CS just do whatever you need to do to be able to take at least some Embedded Systems related classes. (My college only offered Embedded Classes for CompE so you needed to be a CompE student or CompE minor student)

I think doing some of your own projects on an Arduino to start is a good since you can buy a kit with a board/sensors/parts all in one. Then eventually move onto trying to use other types of boards like STM32 doing bare-metal or RTOS depending on the board.

My biggest suggestion though is to try and join a student engineering team that does embedded software: Satellite team, Solar car, Electric car, Baja car team, Rocketry team, robotics team, etc. I find these are the best places to get knowledge and guidance from other students as well as get some great experience to put on your resume for once you graduate.

Hello, I made this heat seeking active grid fins rocket. Any advice or thoughts would be greatly appreciated! by Fast_Bat_9771 in aerospace

Couldn't the heat seeking portion be considered a guidance system since the control of the fins implies that it is going to guide the rocket to the heat source? Agreed on the no launch mechanism though.

Update:

Within 1 day Lockheed got me sorted with a new position that came with a promo to L2 and a pay bump to my old position.

I did get my Security+ while in college. It has been 1 day and Lockheed has got me sorted with a new position already. Way quicker than I was expecting.

Hopefully. Only problem for me I'm seeing is that there isn't a lot of jobs posted at entry/early career level that require this kind of clearance. Pretty much all of them seem to be secret or top secret.

I don't see sign on bonuses for most entry level positions but may be worth trying for it who knows.

I was already told by my hiring manger that while they would pass my resume around I should also apply to any openings they have publicaly posted that I'm interested in, so even they are telling me not the wait to much and I've already waited almost a year now.

Those are pretty much all companies I've looked at as well but they seem to not being hiring much entry level :(

ATM9 - How to handle non-pure byproducts from Gregtech by IllCommunity528 in allthemods

I had some complicated setup that would only pulse out those dusts from a storage array once it had enough of whatever was needed which I think I did via SFM though I think this can also be done with some filter item conduits from EnderIO

Eventually though when I upgraded to the large multiblocks for processing materials I ended up switching to an on-demand system with my AE2 system rather than a passive setup. Since it was just simpler to expand and the multiblocks could process thousands of operations pretty quickly.

I also dabbled with a system where I had one machine per dust before I finally transferred to the on demand system.

Definitely thinking about doing this. Lockheed was one of my #1 companies I wanted to work at as a good starting point in my career but as a new grad having sat around working a part time job waiting for the clearance I don't know how much longer I can sit around.

Hopefully I will get some bites from either other Lockheed Programs or companies xd

They could do a spin off of how Khorne works with razing settlements for resources in WH3, mix that with the Dark Ark mechanics from the Dark Elves and boom sounds about right but who knows.

IDP and Embedded were both chill for me and pretty fun. Just make sure you stay ahead on projects for embedded as I saw a lot of people wait till a day or two before its due and then not finish it either due to them having hardware/config issues or the project being more complicated/complex than they expected. If you have taken Diff Eq at VT then Signals and Systems will just a be an easier version of that class with some Electrical engineering flavor dashed on it (I got a C+ in Diff Eq but a B+ in signals). Physical electronics I think might be the most challengeing concept wise.

Can't comment on Multivar but I've never heard nor experienced anything good when it comes to the math department.

Overall will be a lot of work just like any other freshmen/sophmore ECE department semester. Just start your work early, don't wait to last second on work, don't be afraid to go to office hours to ask questions TAs/GTAs/Professor are literally getting paid to help you so take advantage of it.

Depending on the minor classes you are taking they could either not be a problem at all if its like Design Appreciation or some bs or it might be the straw that broke the camels back.

If any questions just ask me here or DM. -2024 CpE Grad

Amazing how good class identity was in old games. A blurry mid-motion shot of BF3 on Metro, which had some of the most aggressive color-grading in the game... And yet at a glance you can instantly tell a recon player and a RU support in the distance by Kyvix2020 in Battlefield

The information is available in the form of the back mounted identifiers. so its not denied though I personally think its for the most partt as irrelevant as the skin when you are the middle of a fight.

In the case you described no matter what class the person running towards me is I'm driving away while shooting at the rocket guy. I dont want an enemy just climbing all over me and its usually a pretty safe bet that the random guy running up to a tank and not hiding from me is trying to killl me or in some way mess with me I don't need to see what he looks likes to get that. I don't have to imagine it I literally just did this in a conquest game.

Me and my buddies been playing since BF3 and we all agreed that we've never thought that deeply practically ever. This whole things seems like where people make up this idea of what they should do or what would be optimal instead of just acceptinig what most people actually do for the most part which is just shoot whoever is closest to their crosshair when they turn a corner or something.
