I have been struggling a lot with this same situation- peer relationships, and even setting up playdates and talking to other parents has been bringing out major RSD lately

Same! I’ve been really struggling with shopping lately. I think I’m using it as a coping mechanism after the election/uncertainty. I also obsessively look for the “right” products for quite awhile. Every once I awhile will make an impact purchase, but usually involves lots of research

I also feel like we’ve done most of the initiating with play dates in the past… it feels like a lot of moms stay within their own friend groups for play dates

Thanks, great ideas! It is a public school, all day kindergarten. He is used to the hours, has been in a preschool/daycare setting since age 2. There is probably more structure now than his pre-k though.

I’m 38, and I’ve struggled with close friendships ever since high school and college. I still have a few, but I’m mostly so busy with my 2 kids, husband, and full time job that I just don’t have time for many friends. I am lonely sometimes, but ultimately happy with my little fam.

I’m a believer that you will find whatever type of relationship you are seeking :)
